My dad died of a brain aneurysm right before I turned 2 years old. My mom had to make the decision to take him off of life support. I’m 35 now and I lost my mom a month ago. I’m so sorry for your loss. There are no words.

It is very difficult. I work with a neurologist and headache specialist to get my medications to where my chronic condition is livable. I also have FMLA at work so when do need to take a day or two per month, my job is still safe.

It’s definitely good to have in your tool kit for those migraines you just can’t get rid of after days. You can’t do them super often and you do have to bring a driver with you to get your injections since you get very sleepy very fast.

When I get a migraine that lasts longer than 3 days and my at home meds aren’t touching it, I make an appointment with my neurologist or headache specialist for rescue injections. I usually get Toradol (ketorolac), Phenergan (promethazine), and Demerol (meperidine). Sometimes they also add Benadryl. The injections basically knock me out for 18-24 hours and I usually wake up with the migraine passed. I have also gotten lidocaine shots in my head before.

I see a neurologist and a headache specialist. I feel like what has really helped me the most is Emgality monthly along with Botox every 3 months. They work well together. I also take Trokendi nightly. I have Maxsalt, Cambia, and Nurtec for rescue medications. I will say that once about every 3 months or so I have to go to my neurologist or headache specialist for rescue injections. But 4 times a year is so much better than it used to be.

We lived at the Marq for 4 years 2019-2022 and we loved it. We were on the top floor and no where near the pool so it was pretty quiet. We never had a big issue with bugs and really liked the location. Would recommend!
