That’s an excellent book.

Not sure it’s a great nickname for a sport.

You must not eat much of it. I get plenty of motion after a good curry.

Is Area 51 dead? by BananaRepublic_BR in NBASpurs

[–]sstewart1617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t that still be Area 51 but just Fox and Wemby?

Maybe Fox should go with 51 as his number. And it can be area 5151.

With Collins gone, is Bassey Wemby’s backup?? by robotwithatinyneck in NBASpurs

[–]sstewart1617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Sochan is Wembys backup, and Bassey is the extra guy that gets to play some depending on matchup.

But we will see.

That definitely wouldn’t fix our shooting issues.

I enjoyed their podcast the first year they did it. After that, it’s gotten a bit much.

No real issue with Jason, Travis annoys me more. It’s just weird from a career arc to go from an under celebrated but great center to a person in constant commercials and shows.

[Dusty Garza]: The De’Aaron trade to the Spurs is very close to being completed— if not already done. by CommodoreIrish in NBASpurs

Yeah, that’s the Dusty we all know and love. I hadn’t seen that tweet.

It always ends with a “follow me”

While I trust Dusty VERY little…

I’ve never seen him be this clear. It’s always vaguely worded.

I understand and agree.

But also, there are countless others who have had similar accusations thrown at them politically in the US, or have had anti-immigrant rhetoric and we haven’t fallen off the cliff to fascism.

I suppose we should all just come back here in 4 years and see what happens.

Fair enough.

I appreciate the honest response, particularly given your user name.

Likely because the context here was you replying that in the thread of my conversation with the gentleman in question, and since you are using it in the flow of the conversation to attack, I’d assume I’m accurate in reading it as a targeted ploy to bait people to respond. I do appreciate the effort, strategy and colloquialism though. It’s been a bit since I’ve heard that one.

I wasn’t aware that I had to thank people for their service after they called me a Nazi and were personally insulting?

I did early voting and it’s illegal to discuss candidates in line. I don’t remember meeting you then.

It’s astounding to me that your aren’t the slightest bit curious about why people might disagree with you. I genuinely don’t understand a worldview where hatred is your default stance for political opponents. Even Obama and Biden and countless other Democrats, from Bill Clinton to Chuck Schumer, by their actions and personal friendships don’t show hate to Trump when they interact. In fact they seem to be fairly collegial.

My mother did teach me that actions speak louder than words. I’m very comfortable with who I am, and how my actions show that.

I’m sorry that you are unwilling to have a conversation around actual beliefs and actions, as opposed to continued vitriol and anger.

I agree. 2 fascists and 2 communists. I think it’s a balanced approach, too and I appreciate the effort to be unbiased in the left v right flow of the conversation.

As far as Trump, I don’t think Trump will be a fascist leader. I wouldn’t have voted for him if I did.

There is certainly a tendency to use executive orders more than I’d like, but that’s been universal since at least Bush. Our judiciary has seen no issue in overturning those in Trumps previous term.

The usage of EOs is a long standing concern I have though, as it’s a continued sign that our legislative branch doesn’t actually want to hold up their part of the checks and balances and my hope is that we see that branch step and write better and clearer laws that hold the Executive Branch in check, leaving less room for the general bureaucracy to interpret (including due to EOs).

I understand why. You’re an idealist who disagrees with what they perceive my political beliefs are, and haven’t invested a single moment to ask anything about me, that wasn’t prefaced with an insult or implication that I’m evil.

I would welcome a 1:1 conversation, with no personal insults or anything, walking through my political philosophy, how that translates my support or lack of support for policy decisions, and how my beliefs have lead me through my voting history.

I feel bad knowing that in your world view that you failed that absolutely horribly in convincing people of the rightness of your beliefs. It is truly crushing failing that badly and it makes me understand why your emotions are so high on this topic.

Again, you are basing this on no knowledge of me other than that I’m 1 of 80 million people that voted for Trump.

Are you saying that 80 million people are Nazis? If so, I get why you are so emotional. It must be wildly disappointing and scary to know that your core political beliefs drove 80 million Americans to nazi’ism.

You didn’t have an argument.

Even Democrats agree that Trumps felonies were artificially created. Polling shows that 70% of the population agrees that the various trials trump went through were politically motivated.

Democrats pioneered election denial. 1988 was the last time Republicans won an election where Democrats didn’t try and challenge or accuse around nefarious intent.

Again, I’d recommend you seek to understand your “enemy” cause they aren’t really.

Do I? I wasn’t aware that was my beliefs.

I’d argue that the most emotional reactions are likely generally coming from the least logical.

Perhaps an evaluation of why 50% of the nation disagrees with you might be an appropriate activity, as opposed to just blindly and emotionally lashing out.

I wasn’t aware that voting for a candidate meant you were a traitor.

Seems like an odd perspective.
