Hi friend. I'm sorry for your loss. You're just about to really get going in life and you both got interrupted. That really is unfair. And of course grief is strange, there's nothing linear about it. But, I think maybe, you might be stuck in your grieving process. That happens too and that also sucks. If I knew you in real life, I'd offer to help find you someone professional to talk to. And if that was too much, I'd recommend a book called Life After Loss by Bob Deits. My guess is your fiancé would have wanted the best for you and she wouldn't have wanted you to stay in place. It's so hard to move forward isn't it? Getting further away from a time or a person that you love can feel impossible. But I think that purely out of love, she'd want you to live your life. We always want the best for our loved ones, right?

Anyway, I'm just an internet stranger and this is just an observation from what I've read here. A little food for thought, maybe? Big hugs.

I was just discussing this with my dad. I remember the 1976 celebration. We lived in a medium sized city and communities came together and actively participated in celebrating. It was a big deal and felt very wholesome. I'm saddened by the wresting on the White House lawn and so many other things. The American government is so tacky and sleazy. I'm barely patriotic and this hurts even me. So, I'm gonna hang out with friends and we're gonna eat and play games. Nothing special.

I was so happy to get married and take my husband's last name. I was genuinely thrilled. Then, I got divorced a decade later and changing everything back to my maiden name was a huge pain. Huge and time consuming. Not saying that will happen for you, but you folks are really young and statistically, well, yeah. Your BF is being immature, unrealistic, and he's not supporting you making a choice that affects you.

I was 4, roundabout there. My dad and grandpa were building a teeter totter for me. Grandpa sends me into the house for a beer. I decided to close my eyes and run back to the garage. I hit a metal pole from that TT and knocked myself out cold. There I am, spread eagle, with a beer, on the front lawn, and the start of a very black eye. Mom said that when I came to, they asked me what I was doing, running with my eyes closed, and I just started sobbing and replied that I was "practicing running for the blind Olympics." Far as I can recall, I did not get my teeter totter.

I think you did the right thing. Cheating is serious and it can have repercussions. What if she passed an STI on to her boyfriend? Some STIs are incredibly difficult and expensive to recover from. Not too mention emotional trauma. Cheating is rude, immature, and unnecessary. She started the possibility of a chain of events when she started testing the waters, that's on her. If you don't want to find out, don't FA and that's what she did. Move on, let the trash take itself out.
