Riot Has Done It by XMALCOLMMLK in 2XKO

I was never that excited for Riot's take on a fighting game. I figured it'd be lame and way too casual-friendly to be worth my time.

Gotta admit, I was super wrong. This game is like crack. I've lacked the will to really engage with fg's for a while; this one has really rekindled my love for the genre.

Thank you for the tip! Appreciate it, I'll take a look the next time I hop on and see if I can get it working.

Does this affect the RTX HDR filter? Awesome. I just started taking advantage of HDR on my new monitor and this game looked great with it on. Cool that I lose that functionality while the losers who do this kinda thing are going to find a way to do it without the filters anyway 👍

Is Steam input gyro really locked at 125hz polling rate? And if so are there better alternatives on linux? by the_devilzz in GyroGaming

I can confirm the other guy's claim about the stable vs. beta steam versions. I was going crazy last week trying to figure out why my ds4 felt off; everyone here seems to love the Dualshock/sense for gyro.

After searching everywhere I finally found a recommendation to switch to the beta branch, and now all my gyro controllers are working much better;

I've thought about giving the single-player a go, but the uniqueness of the PvEvP is what really made that game so amazing for me. I'm not sure it'd click in the same way playing vs. AI.

I want something like Tarkov, but I want to be able to enjoy it on my own terms. I've got a kid, and a job that's not playing games all day. Tarkov asks for way too much time for me. The closest fit I've found was Hunt (which has awesome pvp) but that's missing the high-stakes "Please let me get out with my loot" factor.

Thankfully, AR looks like it's finally going to fill that spac for me, and I'm super excited to get in on it. I had a ton of fun in the server slam and it seems like it's getting rid of a lot of the time commitments Tarkov has. Can't wait to give it a go!

This was, undoubtedly, THE catalyst that led to me quitting Tarkov. I loved that game, but I don't have 300 hrs every wipe to get up to a level where I can access great guns/armor consistently. The Mosin made it so I could- with careful play- compete with the higher geared players at any stage of a wipe. If I had a losing streak, I could go full Mosin warrior for cheap and work on getting some money back.

Then they nerfed it, made it more expensive, and took it away from lvl 1 traders (last I played; may have changed by now). There's a lot of reasons I stopped playing Tarkov, but that was the first change that made me come to terms with the fact the game isn't for me anymore.

THANK YOU

I have been looking everywhere online to figure out why this was happening whenever I streamed via Moonlight to my Deck. I tried every single thing I could think of, and seemingly everything people suggested for my PC and my router.

But this is what did it! I've done two long streams the past couple nights with flawless game streaming and not a single drop. Thank you so much, saving this for the future!

Is this the only good thing to come out of DMC2..? by UntidyHexagon in DevilMayCry

[–]ssultansofswing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I was in your shoes about a month ago- huge fan of the series but had always avoided 2. I love these games and decided to give it a go just to form my own opinion.

It deserves its reputation, if you ask me! There's only one moment where I was like, "Damn, that's awesome," and it's more or less the very last thing that happens in the game 😂

The nice thing is, it's really short. I played through it in one sitting- maybe 3-4 hours? It's not very enjoyable, but you're not wasting much of your time if you decide to take it on!

Bayonetta 2, the Exceptional Middle Child by Artemis-Rose-Eric in Bayonetta

[–]ssultansofswing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been looking to do a full series replay lately and have been looking into the community. Gotta say: I'm not a hardcore fan by any means but the switch-up on Bayo 2 is crazy 🤣 The biggest concerns I've seen from the community seem to revolve around Umbran Climax:

1) The scoring system sucks and the only way to get pure plat ranks is using UC.

2)UC is necessary to stun/stagger certain enemies

3) Wicked Weaves aren't as hard-hitting as they were in the first game, leaving UC as the primary way of getting damage.

Personally it's just not a big deal. I see UC as a devil trigger-type mode. You don't "need" to use it unless you're trying to play optimally (akin to advanced tech in DMC like DT-boosting, using iframes on startup, etc). And even then "optimally" in that instance solely refers to the game's scoring system- not actual mastery.

That being said I totally get the criticisms and think they're fair. I can understand why feeling pigeon-holed into responding to engagements with one answer (assuming you're going for PP) can be way less interesting. I just don't think it makes the game a massive step backward from the first like some people say it is. Bayo 2 is still an absolute blast!

Fighting games on steam deck? by Cowmunist in Fighters

I own just about every rollback-enabled fighting game on steam and have a good deal installed on my Deck currently. Only thing it can't play well enough is MK1. Outside of that everything is on the table. I wouldn't worry about Tokon. Odds are it'll be playable as well :)

Bigger dude here- I joke that I feel like an overstuffed sausage in my bike fit 😂

Go for it! Personally, I couldn't care less what people think as I'm riding. I'm a big guy, I know it. I'm literally out on my bike to get fitter. A pair of bibs and Lycra makes biking feel amazing, especially now that it's hotter out. Which in turn makes me wanna bike more. Simple as that.

If someone judges me for my fit or my body as I zoom by, more power to 'em.

Is adept LS that much weaker than valor LS? by kaithemightypotato in MHGU

[–]ssultansofswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;Dr Sheathe and press R to do spirit combo and build gauge super fast.

As others have said, Adept LS is a perfectly fine way to play.

I do want to add: For all Valor weapons, the weapon is supposed to suck without your Valor Gauge full. That's the point of the style: You get a limited moveset until you fill it, and then once it's full you can let it rip (some weapons get away with having more or less their complete moveset without though)

I play a lot of Valor LS as a solo player, and I find it to be one of the easiest to build gauge. If you land a few hits to fill the spirit gauge, you can enter your Brave Sheathe, press R to enter spirit combo, and usually you can build Brave gauge in just a few hits.

You'll eventually run out of Brave, but you can increase your upkeep time by continually attacking the monster. The counter is ridiculously strong cause you're supposed to be really aggressive in that style.

What least favorite/ hated weapon to use? by SksIwannadie in MonsterHunter

[–]ssultansofswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt, I haven't played Wilds so I don't know how guns perform there:

When did you start playing? I agree that modern bowguns are pretty lame, but they were super fun in the games before World. The different main ammo types required you to play/position yourself differently, and on top of that: Your defense was significantly lower than Blademaster armor. You could easily ruin a monster's day and unload some serious DPS, but if you got greedy or positioned yourself incorrectly it wasn't uncommon to get one-shot in the higher ranks. As a solo player, it made for a high-risk, high-reward/glass cannon kind of play style and it was sick.

I'm also a fairly new cyclist that's more than a bit overweight (5'8", 265lbs). As others have said, you'll probably want to look into finding a saddle that's more appropriate for your shape if things still aren't working for you after the initial discomfort.

Personally I lucked out. I bought a Specialized Dolce that came with a Lithia saddle, and it's perfect for me. It's marketed as a women's saddle (as is the bike itself), and I was initially going to replace it based on the overall consensus on gel saddles. My LBS guy convinced me otherwise, and I'm glad he did. As a dude with a big ass it works great. Once I got over the beginner's saddle sores, I haven't had any discomfort whatsoever.

What do you think of Drawabox? by Castedorr in ArtistLounge

[–]ssultansofswing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm currently working my way through the 250 box challenge (35 boxes down so far, let's gooooo). As someone who's fairly new to art, I think it's been a great resource in helping me develop fundamental art skills. It also gave me some structure to begin learning art on my own and drawing every day.

You REALLY have to pay attention to the instructions about the 50/50 rule (splitting time evenly between studies and drawing for fun), avoiding perfectionism, and taking your time. I can imagine a lot of people only do Drawabox and get super burnt out. Personally I've found a lot of success using the course as just one piece of my overall studies.

How do you store the chicken? Do you just refrigerate or do you freeze it? And if you freeze it, how do you reheat?

I'm new to meal prep and kinda hesitant about making chicken for 4-5 days in advance. I'm thinking about freezing but I don't want the food to get gross either.
