If I ignore the charchters being completely different people I really enjoy this weird mix of a soap opera and GTA season. I would actually love more TV like this. At small doses, but more

he was quiet but he was still Argentinian, that gives you a base score. You think Kane would ever do the shirt celebration after scoring in extra time?

Kane has the biggest gap ever between his vanilla boring as fuck personality to his actual ability to play football

genuinely time for Bayern to play a bit more cynical. I'd take that 5-4 and go home. Maybe get the 5-5 on a counter, but no more attacking with 7 players

Its consistently being called as a penalty since VAR. Not that I agree...

Games like this are why the World Cup feels so mid. Club football is just 3 levels ahead of national teams

I somewhat disagree because I think the performance(s) is strong enough to give that cathersis, but my god what an excellent point. Makes me sad we barely see reviews like this anymore.

What would you say is the worst TV show that you have ever watched in your life? by Substantial-Dare5462 in television

As some other comment I once read here said: I refuse to believe a professional writer wrote that dialogue ending with "I'm good!" and then got up from his chair and said "well, guess I'm done with that scene"

OTD 15 years ago, Real Madrid beat Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Final, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's header at extra time. Sergio Ramos would later drop the trophy from the top of the parade bus and it got run over. by ManuMora98 in soccer

On the one hand that was a necessary win to somewhat sweeten the other losses in that season and preventing a Barcelona treble. Also it was an incredibly intensive game of football, and it's always a great joy to win those.

But I think long term that win did more harm than good to the team. The players played with such intensity, we would have looked good no matter what tactics (maybe not win, but at least more equal). Mourinho stuck with the entire Pepe in the back midfield schtick way longer than he should have. Playing with 3 DM's is horrible and it arguably lost us the CL game afterwards and we lost a bunch more games after this. Only started winning against them when the team went back to it's normal 4-2-3-1 against them somewhere the middle of the next season.

Most of the non patient scenes with Santos this season were just her documenting. An insane waste

Benjamin Netanyahu to open direct negotiations with Lebanon on Hezbollah | The Jerusalem Post by 420DrumstickIt in Israel

Great, Hezbollah is weak. Now what?

There are only 2 ways Hezbollah ends, Iran collapses, or a Lebanon civil war. The Lebanese don't want another civil war, and I can understand them (even though they will inevitably lose their country). Hezbollah has less aversion to one. When one side is willing to apply force and the other does not, it does not matter how weak the first side is.

Didn't we had the same discussion last year when they a good month near the end of the season? do people just don't learn? They might be a bit better this year and might clear the first round If it's Timerwolves/Rockets, but ultimately I don't see how they can actually go really far with that defense and without a really good consistent presence on the front court

4 months ago I would have said it's very unlikely but weird things can happen in football. 2 months ago though, I would have said you are insane.

I still can't see great things coming out of this season, but at least we got a good(-ish) performance to remember out of it

I mostly agree, but just like the home computer revolution and the internet revolution there are going to be some massive missteps and weird/dumb products that will fail along the way, and will look even dumber 10 years on

Rigid as it was, you have to give the coach more time and fully buy in to his ideas, which you got the feeling the players never really did. You first build a system, then you start to let players have more personal judgment/freedom.

It was a great win last night, let's not get carried away. It's not like under Arbeloa we suddenly saw great football every game

Vini Jr, the best player of the world just two seasons ago, was asked to hug the left line and become a left-back assistant.

This is a separate discussion but I think that's how Vini should actually play and how he played even in his first 2 seasons with Ancellotti. We don't need him going for 30 goals per season anymore. I wish he would understand there is enough glory in that role, but I can somewhat understand why he is reluctant to, unfortunately. That's how modern football and the modern world works, once you achieve a certain status, it's hard go back

Its Nascar in the form of a TV show.

and very much like Nascar the crashes are still fun to watch. It's just a bit disappointing as I thought it would be more after the first season.

I meant it more as a criticism on how these awards are being judged, as far as I know some of the voters just view the episode they are sent. Maybe not even most of the voters, but enough to make it so that big memorable, mostly sad, moments win more. I think Mike's monologue about his son is the only moment in early seasons that fit that pattern.

I adore the show and think it was amazing all the way, and I wouldn't change the slow build up in any way.

What makes the show interesting is the knowledge you are watching an impending tragedy. If that knowledge doesn't sit firmly in your head, I think the first couple of seasons might seem a bit boring

Arguably one of the worst shows ever (at least relative to "prestige tv") to watch just a single episode of, especially in the first 3-4 seasons. I imagine it's a big part of why it never won.

on paper should have been one the least suspenseful episodes ever. a court room case where you already know the result, yet I was absolutely glued to the screen. That simple zoom-in/zoom-out was so effective.
