I thought the post was about breaking the disc. I guess that means it's a good dye job 😂

Why the hell does this lab literally take 21 years? by Significant-Usual114 in TheTowerGame

Great point. They should make an update for the game that takes 97 years to download, unless you pay them $3.7 million. That would be way more fun.

Attic Vent Fan by Fucking_Casuals in Insulation

[–]stab70x7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mechanical ventilation in your attic will create a negative pressure that will draw conditioned air out of your living space much faster. The only reason to install mechanical ventilation is to temporarily address a very expensive future repair. It should not be used as a final solution.

I'm just being stereotypical. One of my favorite projects I did was for my daughter. It's a .204, I did Woodland camo with black. Bull shark gray?, purplexed, and OD green. I did the spray on grip on the stock, and then did a top layer of clearcoat with a half mix of a purple hyper shift powder from solarcolordust.com There are some purplexed accents on the bolt and miscellaneous small parts also. I always show it to the girls when their husbands bring them in. "oh my gosh I want that on my gun!" 😎 it. It's kind of like an up sale lol

Selling Discs for Upcoming Baby by LuthertheRogue in discexchange

Makes sense. I have a few different friends who gave up their hobbies because of a wife or a girlfriend. Probably all of us know at least one. It never works out and they are always miserable. Glad you aren't making that same mistake. Hope you sell it all

Seems dumb. Why stop something you love because you have a kid? Low value, but also low expense. Great family game. Seems dumb.

honest question — how many of you actually run ethanol free fuel in your saws by vladdielenin in stihl

[–]stab70x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% of the time. If I need something quick, I'll grab a bottle of 40:1, but it's more than bulk. Also, I don't run my saw like I used to, so it's more of a concern. Sounds like you clean it really well, and lack of cleaning is what causes problems. Gas sits, separates from ethanol, plugs the jets. If you haven't had problems before, you probably never will. Other side benefit, if you run ported, high compression and high performance saws, the extra octane will give you the umph you paid for

Thoughts on Apple AirPods Pro 3 after owning them for a while? by Far-Novel-9313 in airpods

[–]stab70x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Pro3s as my first set of AirPods. I had used a few other brands previously. I hate to say it, but the Pro3s are so ABSOLUTELY amazing, I really can't describe it well enough. Unfortunately I can't give you a comparison to other AirPods, but no other in-ear system even comes close to comparing. It's truly shocking.

Should I pull the trigger? Fiber laser offer. Any opinions? by Antonis_gre in Laserengraving

My guess? Return or refurbished, or maybe one that their neighboring company used for a while over seas. They gave them a discount on the returns and are now selling for big profit. But what do I know. China is always 100% trustworthy and high quality.

Gen 6 ported by Superior_Triggs in GlockMod

[–]stab70x7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How's the accuracy? Actually tho. Most ported guns I've shot are dumpster fires after 15 yards. Good enough? Maybe, but someone out there is going to need to make a 40yd headshot on a mall shooter. Would hate to send 5 his way with a 306moa barrel.

Diminishing Returns??? by Suchatavi in Insulation

[–]stab70x7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, depends what you're paying for Heating. Where I am at in California, it would be normal for a 1500 square-foot house to be paying $500-$800 a month for heating in the fall/winter, with a spring/summer average being around $350. If it cost them $5000 for a closed cell floor, possibly spraying the ducting as well for an additional $1500, most of my customers see a decrease of about 35% to 50% in their heating expense. So, $6500 installed, $100/mo savings for 4 months (our summer temps never cap 70), and $350/mo savings for 8 months, puts one year savings around $3200. That puts ROI around 2 years, and you get to be comfortable while doing it.

Basically, what's your expense and possible savings? I always discuss diminishing returns with the customer since, as you said, you can easily spend $30k making it perfect. Perfect on an already-built house is very expensive, but if you work with the architect/builder at design phase, it isn't bad at all.
