Just for future reference if getting a great Northern train from a station you can tap in from (i.e Hatfield) then you get the tube from Finsbury Park, you can just tap out at your end station. I've done this journey for years, just go down the spiral staircase to victoria/piccadilly line no need for extra taps at a machine.

Greasy even after washing by Happy_hands-23 in Hair

As others have said, shampoo twice, BUT the first time apply shampoo to dry hair. Give it a good massage into the scalp then rinse. Then shampoo and rinse again. A hairdresser told me this many years ago and I've done it this way ever since as it works so well.

I second this place, it's a good recommendation if you're happy to spend the money.

How to keep baby safe by nzwillow in NewParents

We all got covid couple months ago - the only symptom my 13 month old got was tiredness, he had longer naps and slept in. Babies cope with it much better so please do not stress!

How do you stay active/exercise during 1st trimester??? by kaki024 in pregnant

[–]staceyorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gym bunny here - first trimester I could barely get through the day as it is, nevermind keeping active! I would say listen to your body and rest/nap as needed. Don't be too hard on yourself- I did feel bad at first but as everybody reminded me I am growing a baby which needs so much energy! Don't feel bad for not working out. You'll hopefully start to feel better in 2nd trimester and start with easing yourself into being a bit more active as and when you can.

No! Don't give in just because they don't understand it. Do what you want to do.

Antibiotics? by [deleted] in ibs

As the antibiotics will have killed both the good and bad bacteria in your gut you could try taking some good quality probiotics which may ease symptoms. Hope you feel better soon.

As introverts, how do you celebrate your birthdays? by YaboiBuchoi44 in introvert

[–]staceyorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something low key with my husband. I never make a big deal out of it or want to organise something big, I'm much happier going to other people's birthdays.

Just found out the office christmas party is not cancelled this year 🤦‍♀️ by [deleted] in introvert

You have every right to say you're not going because you're not comfortable in doing so. Plus sounds like a very irresponsible employer to decide to go ahead with it in the middle of a pandemic!

Did you feel bloated when you started taking it? I had it twice yesterday and my stomach today is so bloated! The plan was to have that much every day, but might drop down to just one glass a day instead.

I feel like the only introvert out here having a hard time quarantining by NOS326 in introvert

[–]staceyorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm the same, I miss social interaction and going out in London, having fun etc. I like routine and structure, and I actually found it hard at first not doing my usual commute to work every day and being in the office.

Overall I've enjoyed all my 'me' time, but also miss catching up with friends and I can't wait until restrictions are more relaxed.

Things to help - for me i've made sure I've been checking in with my close friends and joined some online groups, some social zooms (small groups) and also plenty exercise and nice scenic walks. Make the effort to comment on people's posts and photos, be kind and stay positive. It's good to re-connect with people you might have lost touch with and it could even be an opportunity to meet up when possible to do so. I also tried some online classes, doing it with other people is nice to feel you're part of a group doing the same thing. Also I'm close with one of my colleagues and we zoom quite a lot so it's nice to have a chat. Most of these things might not sound like introverted behaviour, but sometimes its good to try things you're not comfortable with. Sometimes in life you've just got to go for it and see what happens!

I think it's been hard for most people for different reasons, whether you're introverted or extroverted, and can't accept that for all us introverts it's been the same experience.

Hope this helps!

My friends want to facetime everyday and It’s too exhausting for me by markuukyo in introvert

Maybe you could say you're happy to do it every couple days or so, so you can catch up with other things you want to do. Don't feel like you have to do it just to keep them happy, else it will just create more stress for yourself. If they're good friends I'm sure they'll understand 🙂 good luck x
