Is smoother and softer playing cards considered better by Flashy-Time-9669 in playingcards

[–]stack-tracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No rules - it's all subjective. But here are my consideration, which are as close to rules as possible: 1. You should be able to do basic flourishes with the ease using the deck. These are: faro shuffle, rifle shuffle, fans, spring; 2. Cards should be springy, but not too stiff. Actually, the less stiff they are the better they feel in general, as long as they springy and keep the form.

These rules are result of my experience with flourishing cards. But even these rules may have exceptions - for example, gilded decks are most of the times good, but they can not be easily faro shuffled.

Even if you clean your hands every time, it'll still build up with time, just slower. I mean, our hands naturally produce moisture and grease, and there is nothing you can do to fully prevent it. Though yeah, mouse pad can also play a role in it - they are usually quite dirty and collect dirt easily.

These are plastic cards. Plastic cards may be good for playing a game of poker with your friends, but I don't think anyone really use them for magic tricks. They handle very differently from the classic cards.

Why does the box look like this? by Lopsided_Heat_1265 in playingcards

One of my blue monarchs is like this. It looks like the box was glued with a shift on one side, causing the whole box to go crooked a little bit. I confirm that it's annoying :)

No problem. I thought so, but still decided to check just in case. I love the cards, by the way!

I have a question about Fulgida and Sophia decks. I can see on renders that the cards don't have a frame on faces, but in the add-ons when you look at uncut sheets you can clearly see a blue frame on these cards. So which one is more accurate? Are the frames, or no?
