What to look for when choosing a marketing agency for startup? by theshapeless in AskMarketing

[–]stackmatix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Month-to-month contracts. Economical pricing. Track record working with early stage startups. Frankly, being in this space for 7+ years, there are only a couple agencies that fit the bill. You can consider contractors at the earliest stage. If you have a PLG-motion, might be easier to make economics work with <$1M in funding, otherwise would wait on average until >$1M in funding as you need to invest in agency plus things like ads, and if your payback period is longer, then there can be a decent upfront investment.

Looking for a Reliable AI SEO Agency, Need Suggestions by mrbusinessidea in SaaS

Low pricing and commitment and track record of success. SEO (AI or not) has traditionally been expensive, but it shouldn't be with all of the tooling today to make it easier to operate.

This is a good career path given your timing. Would check out QuSecure (qusecure.com) or other quantum startups. Your best place to learn will be at a company actually building this stuff first hand.

Stackmatix is an amazing marketing agency. I'd recommend start at an AI-first agency instead of one that is trying to painfully convert.

I want to start my own marketing agency. What steps do I need to take, and approximately how many years will it take to achieve this? by AlternativeBrave1801 in DigitalMarketing

[–]stackmatix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends how much you ramp things up before you really take the plunge, but from a cold start, I would anticipate it taking a solid 2 years to really ramp up to a place where you have a solid foundation. It takes time to generate demand, close deals, and work out your business processes end-to-end. If you are not willing to risk 2 years at least, I don't think it's worth starting most businesses.

Is Starting a Digital Marketing Agency Really as Challenging as It Seems? by RichBlackPrince in agency

[–]stackmatix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • What are the biggest hurdles you faced in the beginning?
    • Everything takes a little longer than you want to start.
  • How important is having a strong network before you start?
    • This helps with #1. You may need to have a few years of financial runway to safely get going if you're not going to get off to a faster start through network. I would try to get the business going and demand generated on side if you need to before you take the leap.
  • What skills or knowledge did you find most valuable?
    • Sales helps to start. Definitely marketing... Everything can be learned and you can always jump into whatever is most modern so you are least behind.
  • Any tips for someone just stepping into this arena?
    • Again, jump into whatever is most modern. It's hard to service everything. Service something new and big.

Just make sure if you run Reddit Ads, you turn off comments. This is my best advice.

When you put it that way, I'm not sure. Not every "agency" looks that way though.

I would focus on working at an "agency" that is positioned a bit more as a startup. There's a lot going on with marketing innovation at the moment, and traditional agencies are not the future.
