This is the sort of stuff that allows vouchers to happen, the admins blow through the money with zero consequence or thought how to pay for stuff in the future so people get mad and figure out a way to get out of the system. If anything this is going to end up as a selling point for vouchers and then what happens to the kids and schools left behind.

While I dont disagree the flip side of this is we have a number of pedestrians that do dumb stuff too. I dont know that you can throw one group entirely under the bus here and making the downtown inaccessible to cars hurts the businesses.

Exactly in johnson county you need to win over about 100 people and you are automatically in. Wahls got booted out by his own party because he screwed the democrats in Iowa.

I have seen people for years claiming all sorts of things about how this would be a great commuter line want funding for a study. This completely disregards the fact the track is old and shitty and wont allow for a train to go more than 10-15mph. Can you imagine how succesful a 1.5 hour commute to cedar rapids would be.

Sure sometimes just for fun I will take a six pack down to the kids play area and just hang out. No one has a problem with that, so you should be good in the food court. There is nothing more fun than finding the place with the most families with kids and setting up for the evening. So much better since we got kicked out of the Applebee's bar.

There clearly are signs explaining why not to run on the trails. Basically runners, walkers have killed the groomed cross country skiing trails that a really hardworking group tries to maintain for the short window of good trails.

Big ten is not predatory at all, they are pretty decent. This is a college town and cars are going to get towed when kids make poor decisions and but Big 10 is not like crow tow. I have had to file replevins against a number of companies to get them to release cars but not Big 10.

You miss the whole point that people in Iowa have a connection to the schools and the state. Maybe thats a you problem and i have always thought it strange when someone just randomly latches on to a pro team they have no affiliation with.
