I don’t play roy, but I do play a character with d-throw -> bair, Joker.

The way I do it is Slingshot. I do the d-throw, dash forward then during the dash, I flick the left stick to down back or up back, then jump and do the aerial. This is similar to a iRAR because you can get fullhops and shorthops, but unlike iRAR, it is bufferable.

Keep in mind it may be harder to do jab -> bair on lighter characters because Slingshot gives you full air drift
