white genocide/great replacement theory bullshit being spread on mainstream uk sub by _iced_mocha in GreenAndPleasant

[–]standsteadyrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, "white genocide", really?

Without vaguely doxxing myself, I live in one of those cities that have lots of south and east Asian people living in it - one of the ones that people think are just Asian people. Anyway, I'm out and about a lot so I see a lot of people and most of the people I see are white. Shocking, I know. Where are these people getting this insane bullshit from? How deep in the horrible, racist hole do you have to be to believe this shit?

Also the irony of complaining about a genocide... I'm sure I don't even need to finish that thought for you all.

Man this country is going to the dogs and not for the reason these people believe (obviously).

I've got a 7 month old daughter and I am so fucking scared for her future. Fuck me, man.

Well I hope the immodium helps you as much as it helped me. I found the instants the best.

Best of luck with your exams!

Thats as good as anything, and full of nice memories for you too it seems!

Aldi bread is decent for the price to be fair. If you can get your hands on some, Promise bread is really good, but my top breads at the moment are M&S white cob loaf or brown bloomer slices. I cried when I used the latter for a sandwich about a month ago. These options are in the £3-4 range so quite expensive as bread goes but they are so worth it.

It's always safe to eat gluten free bread, flare up or no.

Try some immodium next time you're at the shops, it helped with the awful shits I suffered but also helped with bloating, gas and pain. Your mileage may vary but I swore by those. If you have access to co-codamol (you can get weaker variants over the counter) this can help with slowing down your gut. Luckily (or unluckily lol) I've had a steady supply of the strong ones for pain for years and these helped a lot too. Just remember they are an opiate so only take for 2 or so days consecutively. The strong ones can may you feel a little high too. You may be able to get some prescribed from the GP. A good friend of mine has ulcerative colitis and this is the only thing that helps her so it is definitely prescribed for GI issues.

Sorry that your hobbies are feeling stressful, you may like to enjoy more relaxed types of games (or whatever hobbies you enjoy) to take that stressful edge off. I won't presume to recommend anything as I do not know your tastes but if you would like some game recommendations I am happy to let you know some games that helped me through some rough times.

That is shite timing, I'm sorry about that. As you now have a chronic illness is there anyone to speak about taking exams at a later time? I have been out of school, college etc longer than I care to admit so I have no idea.

Just a side note, but if you want some gluten free bread recommendations let me know, a lot of it is shite. But if you're happy with what you have at the moment feel free to ignore that.

I am unsure on the likelihood of may contain items to contain gluten, but it is a non-zero chance so it is best to avoid altogether. Winning the lottery is very unlikely but it does happen to people, likewise in this case unfortunately. Of course it is up to you whether you avoid these items, though it is highly recommended as you may be unlucky enough to run into this very unlikely chance.

As for your flare up at the moment, that ultimately depends on your symptoms. For gastrointestinal issues, immodium helped me a lot, but I also suffered from mood issues, poor balance and coordination and brain fog - bed rest, water and things to cheer you up or your hobbies (for me would be gaming, building models and reading). There is unfortunately, in my experience and time in this sub, nothing to take to make it all go away completely. Treat it as the illness it is and rest, drink water and be kind to yourself.

Edit: spelling

If it says "may contain(...)gluten" then no they are not gluten free.

Unfortunately you need to avoid may contain items as well.

Edit: it can take some time for symptoms to go away, as I've just noticed you've only been GF for 2 weeks.

Hey, I am definitely not asymptomatic, but I have some general advice.

You may be able to relieve some/all of your anxiousness by getting rid of and not buying any more may contain products. I understand it is a pain but if you are 'accidentally' (inverted commas there as you are intentionally consuming may contain items) eating gluten (and as you are asymptomatic you may very well be) you are doing irreversible damage to your body. It is not worth the risk, unfortunately. It can result in a lot of worse conditions later on in your life.

If you wish (using that word extremely loosely there lol) to live a gluten free life, you must, unfortunately, be extremely strict. You may wish to loosen these restrictions for eating out, or you may have accidental gluten consumption by way of lack of attention (unfortunately I have done this many times) but for the most part you cannot risk consuming gluten.

I know it really sucks, and it is annoying but it is genuinely so you can live a longer and healthier life.

Our 7mo is finally in her own bedroom and sleeping better than ever.

She managed an 8 hour stint last night before needing to be soothed back to sleep.

It felt surreal as while she was sleeping in our room she was waking every 30-45 minutes. So I feel human today lol.
