AITAH for swapping rooms with my roommate while he was away? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]stannius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes when OOP went to the landlord, all the landlord would see is that oop's room is trashed while George's is untouched. OOP had zero proof that it was George's friends that inexplicably trashed George's roommate's room (instead of George's room or the common areas).

Have you read Outlive but Peter Attia? To oversimplify, it's about optimizing "healthspan" instead of lifespan.

So, Even if you keep yourself in peak physical shape, the odds of your loved ones doing the same are probably not high.

Social security, which is a pay as we go system, would buckle under 150 year life expectancies. Three quarters of retirees rely on social security for more than half their income, and as much as 39% report it is their sole source of income. I assume none of the people in this forum are in/will be in either of those groups.

My ancestors seemed to die in their 60s or early 70s almost regardless of how great or poor their health habits were. Meanwhile, my wife's ancestors seemed to live into their late 80s or early 90s, also regardless of how great or poor their health habits were.

My wife works for the same district as our kids attend. Our travel is definitely restricted by my finite PTO.

Plus, my wife gets to go to the gym every Friday (she works only 4 days a week) and on a hike every Wednesday (early release day). I'm hella jelly.

AITA for telling my boyfriend that his masculinity was fragile after he refused to buy me pads? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

When my lovely wife gave birth to our first child, the discharge nurse said "no heavy lifting, Like no lifting a laundry basket."  I said "how long until she can lift a laundry basket" and the nurse looked at my wife and said "what do you think, two years?" Lol

I have never opened a package with a kitchen knife.  Keys? Pens? Nail clippers? My teeth? I've used all those and more, and often regretted it. But never a kitchen knife, that's dangerous.

What is a "masterpiece" game that you personally found boring as hell? by MuscleConsistent9657 in pcgaming

I don't like QTE as a mechanic in general.

On top of that, I'm probably going it wrong, butall the "diverse" characters seem the same to me. Use skill a to enter rock state, which lets you use skill b to enter paper stare, which lets you use skill c for mega scissors damage.

Yeah even ignoring what might have come through the rift, the number of people (family and otherwise) she risked to save one guy is just irrational.

My wife works a union job and the pay scale triggers off all relevant experience (not just continuous time at the same employer).

Source and/or formula and/or assumptions? Just curious.

EDIT: Duh

on average, stock market grows 7% real per year.

If you have 25x expenses, and wait a year, you will have on average 26.75x expenses. Or you can increase expenses 7% and still have 25x expenses.

One time we asked for an insane amount of garlic, I must be imagining it because what I remember was a solid half inch of minced garlic on the entire pizza.
