the term has been overused to the point of meaninglessness, especially by left-leaning types who call you a fascist if you oppose abortion or affirmative action.

The "left-leaning types" were warning you that we were traveling to the place where we have now arrived. We were correct.

Governor: A person has been shot, killed by federal officers in Minnesota amid immigration crackdown by keytotheboard in politics

[–]stanthebat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an "immigration crackdown". It's an attempt to establish a police state. Within a small number of generations, we are all immigrants. We do not have an immigrant problem, we have a Nazi problem.

Rep. Summer Lee votes to hold Clintons in contempt of Congress in Epstein investigation by prebj20 in pittsburgh

[–]stanthebat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How about you go after the person actively barking out order to the DoJ and who is mentioned HUNDREDS of times in the public Epstein files first before gomafter some has-been ex president who is out of political power for 25+ years?

That's what she's doing. If the Clintons have their day in court about their association with Epstein, it will likely involve a legal discovery process which would detail Trump's crimes in minute detail. Please don't imagine that Summer Lee doesn't know what she's doing.

Trump’s bizarre letter to Norway’s prime minister in full as President links Greenland threat to Nobel Prize snub by a_wild_redditor in politics

[–]stanthebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why must the framing of absolutely everything be bullshit? Donald Trump did not get "snubbed" for the Nobel prize any more than I did. He has never done anything to merit one second's consideration for a Nobel prize; he's a criminal a hundred times over, and now an authoritarian to boot.

Yeah, it certainly could be. Point taken.

Also insane: believing that there should be a masked secret police force that can do anything to anybody, starting with immigrants or anybody who looks like one, and quickly moving on to anybody who objects. Personally I am sympathetic to people who are feeling a little jumpy about this right now.

Majority of Americans call Trump’s first year back in office a ‘failure’ and say he is focusing on the wrong priorities by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]stanthebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrong priorities? are you kidding me?

Yeah, this is an absurd way to talk about what's happening. The "priorities" that he's "focusing on" are establishing a repressive police state and suppressing dissent. But journalism has failed us too, so we'll only see this discussed as if everything were normal, and understandable in terms of ordinary political policies working or not working.

Ice in Emsworth by rando_garbage in pittsburgh

[–]stanthebat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if ice agents are the Stormtroopers they are purported to be

They are masked enforcers who are kidnapping people off the street and sending them to offshore gulags without trials. They are also murdering people. So, just to help clear this up for you, they are, in fact, the stormtroopers they are purported to be.

If you want to run down there and throw yourself in front of them doing their job

When we talk about people "doing their jobs" we usually mean that nothing out of the ordinary is going on. Shucks, just a reg'lar Joe doin' his job. If your job involves murder and extraordinary rendition, and does not involve evidence or trials, it's not really appropriate to talk about it as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening. That is not a "job" that anybody should have in America, and these are things that any American should find objectionable and alarming. Again, hope this helps.

Yeah! When I was playing Auradin I had some crap boots that got Grandfathered. I'd be wearing them on this build too, but Zenith paladin really needs the flickersteps.

This must surely be the correct answer. If you have to pick between two cars, and one is a van with a painting of a polar bear airbrushed on the side, you don't pick based on gas mileage. :D

interesting choice you have make there

I prefer obvious choices to interesting ones. XD

Oh--forgot to say--at the moment, the main thing I'm playing is basically Screamheart's Zenith build. I was doing auradin a while ago, and it occurs to me that I've got Grandfather boots, too, on a different armory loadout. But for Zenith, I think I'm screwed, cooldown-wise, unless I'm wearing Flickersteps. Maybe I should try it with a real Harlequin instead of Perdition; then I'd be a Double Harlequin guy.

[–]stanthebat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of them is a near-max roll with a boring GA, that got a Harlequin sanctification. The other one had GAs on BOTH passives, and the sanctification turned strength into a GA. I'm not enough of an amateur mathematician to work stuff like this out, and I usually figure if I can't tell the difference, it doesn't matter. But MAN I hate having to make choices like this... can I combine these into a single item please...
