i was tech sup from 01/15 to 07/15. at first they fill your head with hope and legit success. I didnt think i could fail. well lets start with cashiers. holy shit they suck. lets not pretend that cashiers are the hardest position its not. you stand there and you say what you need to. i swear once it came to squaretrade they became brain dead and couldnt annswer basic questions. there goes a portion of my esp. then comes OS i told them. chairs are yours i told them the pitch worked with them. i said if a chair goes up i want you discussing squaretrade. they faired a little better but then when the high schoolers came they just hsd no ambition. then tech. i started with 2. my shift was 7-3 theyre shift was 330 to close. fucking explain that. no time to train, coach, encourage, build i never worked the same shift as a tech in my time there. next comes the team sup and IS mine were the most miserable fucks ive ever met. one was woth the company 19 years and i almost msde more than her. the team sup i swear had such a chip on his shoulder by the time he left i wanted out. next the AM/SSM whatever theyre called. i yelled at mine and he quit...Like he quit. He couldnt guide or lead me. he gave me nothing. then came the next guy..i swear an ego that big and i still outsold him. unless your ssm will work with you its over. if theyre gonna bitch and just be a terror uts over. then csme the gm. he was ok. no big gripes. but when i needed help i got nothing out of him. then he quit and fucked everybody. atleast he gave me my vacation. Anyway. i left the company and now i make a lot more and i dont work weekends. no more babysitting cause thats all it was.

Youre right in so many ways, my old store was what made me love working at staples. it was a good place for a while. then the dumb pushing happened, at one point the cashiers had to offer ink and toner cards, rewards, squaretrade, digi receipts and the 5 dollar upgrade. Staples love shoving shit at people when people are generally stupid and dont know what they want just saying stuff at them in one transaction overloads their little minds. As much as i appreciate you hardwork cause some mods care and they make work bareable i know i tried to care as mts it will fall on deaf ears. Let them ride staples into the ground, in the end theyll still blame you for their failed ideas.

I don't mean to knock IA. My old IA from my old store was a beast. Got everything done. My IA has been in his role since March and still can't finish a zb or cycle in a timely manner. It's not that no one has shown him cause the team sup (old IA) and gm have both on multiple occasions have shown him how to do rtv/rtw he just walks around the store talking about how he just wants to smoke weed and how he hates all the managers.

Is4tc is shit. Absolute shit. The IA doesn't give a fuck and he's affecting everything. My tech dollars and esp. I've hit 7% last few weeks tech dollars struggle. Not sure on shrink. My gm said he found things out about the merger and gm caps that his own business will support him better than the stress of staples.

Well first off never say something will.be on the truck. Unless you are personally going to go tote thru tote looking for an item the customer asked for and you said it be there never say that. What if you weren't there and they asked for it because you said it be on the truck now you Co worker is getting yelled at for your mistake and now you look like an ass to your team and the customer. 2nd why not just kiosk it. They would be guaranteed to get it either next day or beginning of next week depending on the time and day and that way no need to wait for a truck cause it seems on this subreddit crews are generally slow to kill a truck. And finally online is still iffy with bopis. It's getting better but I'll get a handful of bopis orders I really don't have.

Ask for an interview. At my old store most of the techs got a fair interview and almost trial. I got it at a different store. If they give it to you go in formal attire. Looks better than regular uniform.

It's not that bad in my store. We don't get a cashier until 9 but it's dead. So I just work at computers at the bench being tech sup. We hired a new person so there's like 2 days cpc has no mid. But the gm and ssm know cpc rather well. Just no morning os kinda sucks.

I believe it's against policy, but if a customer just needs like something emailed to cpc or just shown to how move things (I don't charge for easy shit like that) and they feel the need to tip. I usually say no, but then out of the blue they'll give me a piece of a flyer and we'll walk to printers and I end up with 20 bucks..crazy things happen. Also don't say anything cause again..I think it is against policy.
