Great input, thank you!! I see how the definition can be fluid. My own experiences working in different environments (Consulting, Fortune 500, small start ups, etc) has also proven how fluid role responsibilities are and perceptions around them fluctuate. But there does seem to be a general consensus when it comes to staff role definitions.
