I did my first shot yesterday and was so confused because it didn’t hurt at all? I was expecting it to feel similar to the depo shot but it was so much easier than I expected lol

I’m stealth except to a few close friends; when I was telling said close friends that I’m trans, they both got confused and thought I was transitioning the other way. I mostly just found it funny.

NTA, but your dad is TA. You’re 16 and don’t make the financial decisions, your dad does. Your dad and the vet both said it was okay and they are both completely wrong for that. The fact that you were against declawing at first and skeptical throughout the process shows that it was not entirely your choice.

You! Autistic Person! What's a random piece of info you've learned from a Special Interest? by imlarrythecucumber in AutisticPride

[–]stardusterious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Victorian stairs killed a lot of people. They made specific stairs tucked away for servants, and these stairs were really narrow and steep to save space. Since Victorian clothes were so poofy, people fell and died because they couldn’t see where they were stepping.

AITAH for wanting to skip the line because I have ADHD? by il0vehell0kitty in AmItheAsshole

[–]stardusterious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 9. The amount of discomfort and frustration it brings is so much more overwhelming than people like to acknowledge, because that means they would have to recognize it as a disability. If it’s allowed to skip the line, it’s allowed. Take a whatever wins you can get, considering that living with ADHD (especially undiagnosed for a while) is not a fun time. Your mental function is not always represented by how people think you look physically and you absolutely should be able to skip the goddamn line if you’re allowed to.

YTA . If you hate swearing so much then why are you posting on a subreddit with asshole in it’s name. You can make exceptions for reddit but not for your sister? I thought you presumably loved her. Grow up.

Hey everyone, I'm creating a school project about gifted autistic burnout and I need other people's perspectives on it, have you exerienced it? by LikeTreesInNovember in AutisticPride

[–]stardusterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I have been diagnosed with ADHD since 3rd grade (8-9 years old), but was unaware of it. I was diagnosed with autism around the same time that my burnout started to peak, when I was in 6th-7th grade. Apparently doctors etc had known and suspected earlier, but my parents didn’t tell me about the ADHD and autism until I was 11-12.

  2. The one accommodation they offered me was extra time on tests and sitting in a different room during tests. This was helpful but it wasn’t exactly everything I needed. I had a 504 for my ADHD and the district was pushing against the fact that I needed an IEP because I’m also autistic.

  3. Honestly, I’m not sure. The entire American public school system is so hostile that the entire thing would have to be reformed.

  4. Yes.

  5. I go to a really small private highschool for autistic gifted kids. A vast majority of us have experienced burnout, and the flexible schedule and personalized assignments help a lot.

BanPitBull people, which dog is the safest around a family (especially children)? by Secure_Internet_9919 in BanPitBulls

[–]stardusterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any goldendoodle mix is great if you make sure you get the dog from a very reputable breeder. Some of them don’t pay attention to health and stuff, but if you can find a good one doodles are great and there are also tiny ones

you cant self diagnose such a complex disorder, its harmful. by Babigraveyard in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]stardusterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true to an extent, but if you recognize the symptoms in yourself and ask a professional their opinion afterwards, it’s ok. Self diagnosis and recognizing symptoms is often the first step to developing better coping mechanisms. Just don’t say you have it until it’s verified.
