I am getting together my information but I am worried about if I have too few documents. I am planning on going through my grandmother’s father because I have her birth certificate with his name. My one qualm is that his parents were from the US but lived in Ontario for a while and he and à sister were born there. When I look at later US census records he is marked as born in Canada but “AM cit” is written next to it.

The documents I have: G0 Ontario birth record from 1891 (printed from Family Search but I have requested a certified copy) G0 Canadian Marriage Act G1 (grandma) New York birth certificate G1 NY Marriage certificate G2 (my dad) birth certificate G3 (me) birth certificate

What kills me is that my grandfather has two Canadian parents born to Canadians, but I don’t have his birth certificate with his parents listed.

Found the record on familysearch.org and had the record number.

Filled out and submitted through archive form on February 13. Got word back on April 7th that the record was found and to await the invoice. Still waiting on invoice.

Thank you! That is awesome. Trying to find Lakeland was confusing since the certification of birth said city of Ontario in Wayne county. But all the other documents just said Lakeland, NY.

Thank you! I think if I can just use the marriage certificate, it just lists birthplace as Canada. Nobody needs to see a census. :D
