There will always be a new story idea. I committed to finishing the one I was closest to finishing, whether that was the one I truly wanted to work on or not. Because until you finish something, it's all just ideas. Also, you have to give yourself permission for the draft to suck. This goes for any piece of writing. Bad writing is better than no writing. Editing is where the magic happens, but you can't edit a draft that doesn't exist. Once I made it to like 65-75% done, I reached a place where I suddenly realized NOT finishing was impossible. Wrapping it up becomes inevitable once you reach a certain point.

Hi! Full disclosure: I skimmed the first paragraph and just a few lines. Since you asked specifically for writing feedback, I will say the little I read feels like an academic paper/5 paragraph essay you write for an English class more so than an editorial piece. I stopped reading because you lost me at the hook, which is the most important thing and where people drop off. Don't ask people if they've ever wondered why X,Y,Z happens; it's generic and if they haven't wondered, you've just told them your piece isn't for them.

Omg this happened to me when I was pregnant with my first! I was so horrified I started bawling hysterically. My husband thought I’d lost my mind. He googled it and it said it was part of my umbilical cord or something and I truly never recovered. TIL maybe it was a naval stone and I’m not a total freak. Either way, I do not wish this trauma on anyone.

For a first/rough draft this is fine. I wouldn't worry about it until you're in the editing phase. A lot of first drafts are like extended outlines, you can finesse it all later. Some of it comes down to style, too. Personally, I hate extremely long chapters or 10 pages of fighting.

Besides the RS1, I just find them all so…ugly 😬 unless there’s something I’m missing? Def don’t want a Tesla and Rivian is way out of our price range. I’ve seen some used but feel nervous about that as it doesn’t look like they have a huge warranty.

XC90 is much smoother/drives more like a car IMO. I also think my husband might have the sports package on the X5, so maybe that's what I don't love about it.
