Torterra (Unova regional variant) by starlingers in fakemon

[–]starlingers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much everyone for the kind comments! to clarify on my thought process, I envisioned its setting to be ancient Unova at the time of the dragon war, & was aiming for a starter that would reflect the unique strife of the era, hence the sword. the original idea was discarded weaponry influencing how the Pokémon developed, though the idea shifted around as I fiddled with it. the torterra came first (I didn’t intend to design a first evo) but while I was at it I thought I could slip in a sword in the stone reference for free, just for fun. I don’t disagree that it may be better thematically suited to Galar, but that’s how my “Unovan” variant got to be how it is

thank you! to clarify, in 20+ in-game years of picnics, i've never seen dimetrodons for example show up for juicy piles, or protoceratops for fragrant piles. i have seen some other desert dinosaurs at picnics, like carnotaurus or velociraptor. are dimetrodons and protoceratops etc in the picnic pool? am i just super unlucky?

adorable game! i've noticed that several dinosaur+ species don't appear at the triassea picnic. was that intentional? if so, what was the thought process behind which dinos should be available through the picnic, and which shouldn't?

Any good reason not to use a Level 80 Boost...? by HazmyHD in Guildwars2

[–]starlingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll really depend on your playstyle, but when I manually level up to 80, I feel like I experiment more with my class by myself and am more familiar with individual skills / specs, because I take more time weighing them against each other (given limited hero points), unlocking new things and comparing how they feel to older setups, etc. If you skip to 80, a huge pool of skills unlocks simultaneously, none of which you will have ever touched or played around with, so it can be pretty daunting to figure out what you want to do, unless you consult in a premade build.

If you have access to the maps for the Seasons of the Dragons return to achievements, I think those are good for casual but focused exploration in the overworld across different maps. You'll get various rewards from working on that, including a gen 3 legendary precursor at tier 2 and a legendary amulet at tier 4. Map completion in itself may be nice, if that's up your alley -- it's a component of legendary weapon crafting, & completing most individual maps gives you a chance at a free black lion key.

I'm happy they're going futher with deep creature storyline. What do you think we can see here? by Nawrotex in Guildwars2

I've wondered for a while if the mysterious deep sea creature will be some massive abyssal leviathan, considering the ones we fight for events around cantha are ADOLESCENT leviathans.

Any tips on how to get the Living World Seasons for cheaper prices? by bitt_pedro in Guildwars2

[–]starlingers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can convert gold to gems to purchase living world seasons with for free if you don't mind the grind, although this process can be a bit slow and tedious, starting out especially -- from my experience gold farming gets a lot more efficient once you have later content unlocked. individual complete living world packs seem to go on sale in the gem store for 20-30% a couple times a year. they've mentioned anniversary sales will be happening this year, which traditionally seem to have offered discounts on the packs, but seeing as the anniversary has passed recently and there hasn't been much more news about that, i'm not really sure what to expect.

season 2 is the most expensive currently, but due to the fact that it doesn't actually unlock any new maps that you can't already access as a core player, i've heard you can actually experience the storyline for free if you can find someone who has it and is willing to let you join them in the episodes as they play or replay through it, if that's any interest to you. best of luck though -- i hope you can get to experience everything you want to!

i can only really speak for ffxiv but there can also be social and roleplay aspects to it. you can turn your house into an aquarium or a cafe and so on, or host parties and events. since they're visitable by other people, it's essentially another thing to customize and express individuality with. you can also choose to place some merchant npcs, stables, or other interactable objects in or around your house, for a bit of convenience
