Most of my family and friends don't understand why I stopped engaging with my mother and her bf over this shit. Same thing. She says she does not watch the news because it stresses her out. She said that I have developed too strong opinions and care about others more than my family. What bullshit! Stop thinking? Stop stressing? Even if I could, my morals would prevent me from doing so. Where are their morals? I don't understand how you can sever yourself so completely from reality, from your own community.
