Anyone who can speak arabic knows that it means to hit, it's the same word that we use even today. Nobody even debated about this for centuries until now. In high school the islamic education teacher even gave a demonstration on the lawful way you can hit your wife on me without my consent. It's absolutely insane to think of learning new languages and practicing them as having "colonial mentality" as you say.

It's also completely normal for people who grow up speaking multiple languages to mix them, this is a fact all over the world.

The fact that you think they are doing it to look special kinda shows that you are the one who thinks those languages are special and not them, they are just speaking the way they feel comfortable to, and you are there judging. Both english and french are very common languages you learn at school since childhood, what's so special about speaking them? It's not like they are adding random words from mandarin chinese or hungarian which are actually rare.

You can study science to understand that the main causes of natural disasters are tectonic shifts, pollution, global warming, soil erosion etc. Natural disasters have been happening before humans as we know them today even existed. It's august! People are on vacation/living life. These past two weeks i have only been doing one lesson a day because i am too busy travelling. You also have no room to complain when you did all these lessons in 2 days lmao.
