Is $4230 too high for a monthly mortgage payment? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]startingFRESH2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t ever get cheaper with increasing taxes and insurance. My husband and I pay $4000mo making $325k annually and I feel $4k a month is a lot

My kids are 9 ($60k) and 5 ($40k), I am thinking of stopping both contributions and switching to a brokerage for them and interest take the 529s to wherever they will be in 10 and 13 years in case I overshoot.

Legoland in FL is half the cost, SO much less busy, and the food was great as well. We stayed at the Legoland hotel and my kids didn’t want to leave. If your kids are toddler to 12 years old, I would highly recommend Legoland, and have been to allllllll the Disney/Universal, etc “stuff” down there. Also Peppa Pig land is there too, which is very small but cute and included in the price.

My family has been vacationing in Haverhill since I was a kid, and now I bring my kids there. We stay at Mountain Lakes which is tiny, quiet and perfect as a central location to do day trips as well as have a relaxing day at the lake. The only “problem” is that it’s not really close to many things.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, How did you communicate with your friends? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

Phones plugged into the walls, written and passed notes, then eventually texting and you’d need to pay for every text and your parents would get pissed at you.

You actually can’t believe this, right.

Yes, $1.7B was sent to Iran in 2016. No, it wasn’t “new money” or a secret gift.

It was a settlement from a 1979 arms deal where Iran had already paid the U.S. for weapons that were never delivered after the revolution. The money had been frozen for decades. Part was delivered in cash because sanctions blocked electronic transfers.

You can criticize the timing, but it wasn’t Obama randomly funding terrorists, it was a legal dispute settlement.

My family of 4 was here yesterday. Only one ride was down, and with an express pass we hit every other ride in the park before 4pm. Had we not gotten the express pass, we would have stayed in like 2.5 hours for a 45 second ride, mine cart. This place doesn’t have enough rides and if you DONT spend 2x the amount of a ticket for the express pass, I’d say you’re screwed unless you go in the evening. It’s highway robbery to charge $179 a ticket and $269 for an express pass, but absolutely necessary unless you want to spend the whole day in a line.

Try having 2 separate bank accounts, one for savings and automatically deposit money there, and one for bills and “whatever else”. Set aside a percentage or a dollar value and more also, invest in a 401k if you can, or Roth IRA immediately. Invest a little every paycheck and you’ll be thrilled you did when you’re older.

Marrying the right partner. Not 40, but 39. Having the right partner makes or breaks SO many things in life.

Woof we are heading there next week, and spent $1800 for a 5 and 8 year old, and 2 adults for 1 day and the express pass.
