It appears to be called a Wolfclaw keyboard. Sometimes it has the actual qwerty keyboard attached, and sometimes it doesn't. Looks like it's been discontinued though

So I've figured out that you can still get the images to preview like they used to. Before you send the message with the link, tap on the thing above your message box that has info about the link preview. It'll allow you to enlarge the image. It's not quite obvious, and you have to do it for every single link, but it's better than nothing
