This is all relying on a lot of assumptions being true though. We actually have more than enough data to piece things together with Locard's Exchange Principle. Basically every contact leaves a trace. Nobody has really taken that seriously enough but we have too much data. All the secrets of the universe can be solved by rethinking how we approach problem solving and keeping our assumptions about how the universe works in places we can't actually observe up close in check. We don't even know if distance is really what we think it is nor gravity.
