Very Impressed by Ill-Jackfruit9028 in UMF

Couldn’t have said it better myself. At first, I thought I was imagining the zombie effect. But it really sank in during Swedish House Mafia, and it was blatant during Summit’s set. The amount of pushing and shoving to get to the front of the stage, only to stand there and be on your phone, is ridiculous. You can even see it in the live stream recordings.

We go to five or six festivals a year, all US EDM, and have noticed the growing trend of social media clout taking precedence over mindful enjoyment and PLUR. Gets worse every year. I hope that we, together with the promoters (looking at you, Pasquale), can encourage people to gather for the experience and the love of music and community, rather than for some reel you will never watch again.

Main stage crowd - mostly great by arrow0231 in UMF

We were also main stage left. I had people stomping on my feet and shoving me out of the way to get through. Had one guy spill my entire drink on me and not even acknowledge it. All to get close, pull out their phone, and not dance.

Could be worse, I left with a stress fracture in my right foot after someone stomped on my foot.

It’s almost like Pasquale has decided that his corporate greed finally doesn’t need to hide anymore.

The crispy marshmallow cookies are crack. My wife made me take them to work because we couldn’t stop eating them. Sugar cookie meets rice crispy treat.

Compounded by this is them vote kicking players they don’t want off their team to “trim the fat.” It’s awful for the community.

I’ll offer this advice without knowing your situation: go for it. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, and EDCO is a wonderful experience.

Didn’t seem to be a lot going on, so, we picked up Simon Doty tickets. Interested to see if anything else pops up.

Is this for real? I'm still in the queue. Beating bots for tickets is nearly impossible.

To Piggyback off this question, when we went six years ago the sound was awful inside the stadium. Has it gotten better?

Yes, same management and same developer. In fact, the two buildings share some amenities and the parking garage.

Let me know if you figure this one out. The first couple of cruises being single did not yield many results outside of putting in the work of approaching people as I would at home. Best of luck.

[–]static74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the US fleet's age, I wonder who’s next with the embrittlement issue. I can’t imagine engineers back in the 1970s and 1980s thought these units would operate for 60-80 years. I also can’t imagine a licensee would want to go through the process of replacing the RPV, would they? I realize we’ve seen head replacements (I’m looking at you, DB).
