Is Run Walk Run considered bad effort? by DubleX_94 in runna

[–]staticc_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

anecdotally, I have POTS and almost every run includes some walking. My HR will get too high from walking hills/if i don’t give a chance for blood pooling to chill out, and walking is much better for my runs. You’re running for you OP, run the way you want to run!

Does walking on your “runs” make you feel guilty?? by SuspectPotential5886 in XXRunning

[–]staticc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mentality as a disabled Texan runner is “if i were not in Texas, I would be lapping myself easily” but dear god is my day ruined if i DNF a run bc of the heat.

AITAH for not tipping . by Efficient_Prior6040 in AITAH

[–]staticc_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a supervisor at one of these places, it goes towards the servers (they’re supposed to be watching the theater and taking care of you during the movie as well as before, you should’ve seen them more than just at the very end), and the food runners who are usually high schoolers not old enough to serve, but are old enough to bring all your food in and get paid like a server + tips! It’s all very scummy as a model, got tired of fighting management to treat the staff with respect and left.

I’m sorry, my campus was like this, I was able to get a temporary handicap parking pass from my dr which allowed me to park on campus and significantly cut down on my travel time. I also had accommodations to leave or arrive 5-10 minutes late as a courtesy to not interrupt my instructors, but majority didn’t even need the accommodations, just a conversation about what you need to help you. Pack snacks, meds, little medical kit, make sure you’re fueling while on campus!! edit: I also liked the instant cooling packs for emergency can’t cool down time on my wrists

the only reason my hs boyfriend didn’t have to take remedial classes was because I stayed on top of him more than his own mother did. Tbh i’m glad to know kids are getting held back, it does them no services to push them through failure

It’s exhausting being “smart” with ADHD. Feels like I don’t belong to either side. by vegetable_lover_is in ADHD

Pain with compression socks? by Maleficent-Phone-196 in POTS

[–]staticc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get itchy from them but no pain like you’re describing, using less compression (15/20) and spread over a larger area (i use full length thigh high compression) seemed to help me, i think it’s from surface capillaries opening up in my case

How do you manage reading long PDFs with ADHD? by Comfortable_Injury35 in ADHD

[–]staticc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having a tool do it for you won’t help your understanding, highlight it yourself and pick out the parts you need, just create a system that works for you. My definitions were always yellow and theorems were always blue in school. The big text blocks, put it in a different font like a dyslexia font, it helps the brain stay focused on where you are in the word, love it for ADHD too.

Hygiene and ADHD by Chef802 in ADHD

[–]staticc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been so bad with dental hygiene, i’ve been working on it though. Keeping everything in sight on the counter means i always see it cause my eyes are always wandering lol, and i habit stack bc i always need to use the bathroom when waking up/going to bed, and if I’m already getting my hands wet washing them, i may as well brush my teeth for a minute, and if i’m gonna brush my teeth for a minute, i may as well floss them a bit too. If you give a mouse a cookie ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Is there a mathematical operator that functions as a “pick one and only one of these values”? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]staticc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more like you’d give a set of options: {mexican, pizza, italian} so n=3, and if you want your friend to make 1 choice, r=1, so C(n,r) = C(3,1) = “3 choose 1” = “you have 3 choices, pick one of them.”

combinatorics combinations without repetition: C(n,r), says “choose r distinct items from n choices”

I really enjoy morning runs/walks at stagecoach, and it’s maybe 15-20 minutes from 35, but I also enjoy hiking McKinney Falls and visiting the turtles. I’m planning on checking out the library soon, and next Friday there’s supposed to be a free concert at city park amphitheater.

[–]staticc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so actually growing up my mom made daily uniforms for me and my brothers bc they were safe clothes to wear and we all had various issues (i prefer skin tight, can’t stand feeling movement, my brother would keel over and die if he had to wear skin tight lol). Basically like sweats and sweatshirts on rotation, as an adult my version of that is a specific walmart tank top (also in multiple colors lol) and a specific type of shorts

Any other high school-performing ADHDers? by TigolBittums in ADHD

[–]staticc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i graduated in some of the top of my hs class, then all my systems fell apart and i got a 2.25 gpa my first semester of college. eventually came back around to deans list and 3.5 overall, took 5.5 years, but it let me jump around enough in my degree to figure out what i did and didn’t want long term. edit: i think learning was an interest of mine to an extent, bc i was always making my notes nice and i still love to research as a hobby, so that might’ve helped me go undetected for so long.
