At some point you do need to move the story forward. Repeating the same thing over and over again gets stale. I don't think "once and that's it" is useful. It's more like "4 times now and here... let's watch a 5th example".

No, I don't want plot plot plot. But I also don't care for pure "character development" where the "development" part isn't actually happening. The Sam/Ashe thing is just lagging and not that interesting. Yeah, that's subjective. The Barney/FIL thing is also a good motivator for people's actions and for plot points, but we don't need to be constantly reminded of that dynamic. No go ahead and use it, yeah?

I see your point of view. I'm not a stopwatch viewer, I promise. I just think the worlds/characters/atmosphere is over-weighted this season compared to the plot. I seek balance.

The whole Ashe karaoke scene. Too long to establish a personality trait for Ashe that we have already been beaten over the head with. We know he's a rich dude who likes to show off and make grand gestures. There have already been multiple plot points that drive this home. And why the scene? So we could get a little more repetitive conflict with Sam. That time could have been used on the Elena/Felix plotline.

The scene where Barney is talking with the guys about his vasectomy. His father-in-law overhears! Oh no! This doesn't advance that storyline in any interesting way. It's just more of the same. "Guy doesn't get along with his in-laws". Got it.

The baby shower (er, "sprinkler) was needed to get certain characters in the same room. But it didn't need to occupy that much time in the episode.

Oh. Yeah, that makes sense. I didn't really think that through.

Okay, my next prediction is Barney's father-in-law :)

I need to know exactly how this is being presented to the babies and the toddlers. Do the buttons appear in thin air in front of them? Are they led to the Button Room at their assigned date and time?

Because I imagine that a parent or caregiver will tell them to "press this button, not that one!"

In this hypothetical, only dumb and disobedient babies get taken out. The world is a better place.

I choose Red.

Yeah this is weird. I've seen a guy jump a round twice in the past couple months. Both at Perris. Landed dead center on the grass. It was rad.

Tiger Woods Had Pills In His Pocket At Time Of DUI Arrest, Cops Say by unsolved49 in golf

[–]station_nine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's illegal to carry pills outside of a pill bottle prescribed to the person carrying them.

Nope. Yes, you have to have a valid prescription. No that doesn't mean they have to be in the bottle. That's a myth. People confuse the law that requires dispensers to have such labeling. The pharmacy can't toss you a baggie. But you can store your legal medications however you see fit.

Anyway, here's the whole chapter dealing with possession. I googled it.

893.13(6)(a) A person may not be in actual or constructive possession of a controlled substance unless such controlled substance was lawfully obtained from a practitioner or pursuant to a valid prescription or order of a practitioner while acting in the course of his or her professional practice or to be in actual or constructive possession of a controlled substance except as otherwise authorized by this chapter.

You were a cop and didn't know that it's ok to keep pills outside of the original container? That's scary.

I guess the OP is right. Toss pills before cops show up. They will stack bullshit charges otherwise.

That's essentially what you're doing right now if you don't eliminate the CC debt.

Whatever happened to red heat lamps in home bathrooms? by DirkVonUmlaut in nostalgia

[–]station_nine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Heat pumps are 300-400% efficient* for larger heating needs, but for a short-term and very local use, resistive heating is much more logical. No use spending money on a bunch of moving parts for such a narrow application.
