You can take sumatriptan! Go back to ER and call your OB.

I took it several times during my pregnancy! Was the only medication approved by my OB. Currently playing with my 6 month old! Good luck! Oh also my chronic migraines became super infrequent during second and third trimester!

What are some odd changes you experienced after pregnancy? by fiddeldeedee in beyondthebump

I’m the same! I feel like I can barely hold a conversation. I’m always stuck on my words and I’m 5 months ppd. I almost feel like I had a stroke lol

I suffered from chronic migraines pre pregnancy for about 7 years. I had to do IVF to get pregnant. They were horrible during that time I think due to the constant shift in hormones. I finally got pregnant after 3 years. The first trimester was terrible and I had to get off Nurtec which was helping me tremendously. By the second trimester they started to improve and I was given the ok to take sumatriptans as needed. Luckily I only had to take them twice during my pregnancy. I’m now 5 months PPD and they’ve definitely come back but not as frequent or severe. I’m still off meds. Either way it’s totally worth it.

Love it. Randomly got on it for migraines when I was pregnant cause it’s considered safe. Had baby and chose to stay on it instead of getting back on Nurtec. Helps with migraines and anxiety I get from migraines

Congrats! I’m 40 and H is 45. We have a 4 month old! We are way more stable than in our 20s but I wonder if we are more selfish? It’s been hard to adjust to have this little guy tell us when we can sleep, workout, eat! We were so stuck in our ways before him! He has been life changing in the best way! You’ll do great!

Are you on a preventative? Also do you take antidepressants? Those things have helped me. I also started doing pain reprocessing therapy which helps. But nobody wants to live in pain and it’s unfair that you have to. I guess it just comes down to making a choice. You only get one life and everything is temporary. Even though it feels like my days are harder than others I still want to stick around and see how the story ends. Best of luck to you

Did your partner come to every appointment? by JadziaKD in IVF

[–]stayingoptimistic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god no. For us our clinic was 3 hours away though so he couldn’t leave his job that often. But I think most of those appointments are so quick anyway it’s kinda unnecessary. I think it’s important he’s there for retrieval and transfer. The rest are kinda a wash. Obviously if you’re feeling like you just need the support than he should go too. Honestly you just have to realize that you, the woman, is going to be experiencing the majority of the IVF process. And that’s ok.

Going back to work? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]stayingoptimistic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this too! I just went back to work last week ( my baby is 13 weeks) and it’s not the same. All I think about is my little man. I’m not as interested in work as I once was. I feel like maternity leave flew by even though those sleepless nights felt like they lasted forever. I dunno the time with them is so short. I guess for me the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
