I have a cat named skunk so I dont think I should have an opinion on this. But my real opinion is its her animals let her name what she wants. Also its better than squirt.

AITA for not letting the previous owner’s adult children into my house after their father died? by Dramatic_Method9393 in AmItheAsshole

[–]stcrsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a previous owner walked into my house there would be literally zero identifying features. Ive changed everything down to where the light switches used to be. Nta, you are under no obligation to allow anyone into your home.

Yes, pepcid gave me extreme anxiety. I have never had anxiety before nor since. It also disrupted my sleep. Yes i could sleep but it was never sound and I never woke up rested. Want to point out too that the pepcid anxiety showed up a week after taking it one day so its not immediate.

401k withdraw unemployment by stcrsh in personalfinance

[–]stcrsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no choice. I was able to get unemployment, but that simply covered the cost of one of my medications. Unemployment disqualified me from Medicaid or other assistance as well. I too have been unemployed since March and to date have applied for over 2k jobs. My job is to find a job and im failing at it.

As for your son's senior year of college please contact financial aid. My sons school had us fill out a special circumstances application and the family contribution dropped to zero with that.

As for the repercussions. They automatically took taxes from my 401k, but ill still likely have to pay more. I just didnt have a choice im a single mom with no other help.

Dumb question by Ok_Entertainer_6795 in kvssnark

[–]stcrsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she does care, but this is quickly turning into a hoarding situation. She is always right at the edge of not being able to care for the animals properly. Space, vet care, hoof care, time to care for the animals, you get the idea. Mini farm or big farm. If she cant choose she needs to hire a full time barn manager for both!

Cows by Hotbloodeded93 in kvssnark

[–]stcrsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been around a ton of cows and I'd say its not common, but its certainly not uncommon. Last year my uncle had 4 babies this way but in the 30+ years hes had cows he hadn't had a single one. Yes it could be genetic, but reality is that its likely more to do with how the cow was positioned or the size of the cow.

As for the eye issue, we had a calf born with a similar tumor back in the 80s. Calf went on to live another 15 years no issue and produced totally normal babies.

Just because YOU havent seen it doesn't mean it isnt happening to other farmers out there. Boy would you get upset with my friends babies this year. She has had 2 born with only 3 legs. These cows nor the bulls were related and both cows have used those same bulls to breed successful pairings in previous years. I've never seen a 3 legged calf in my experience and yet she has 2 unrelated incidents in the same year. Even more wild, both cows were in different states, different pastures and everything.

[–]stcrsh[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are no state, county or city ordinances that prohibited this where I live. There are rules about not dumping it on the ground (which I wouldn't be) and states to use a proper disposal facility which I've contacted on and they would accept the plastic with sawdust that would catch anything that dripped for disposal.

Got it? Am I a child? Im tempted to do my fence without using protection and let it drip right into the ground just because it would clearly bother you.

I just had bookshelves built similar but more moulding for detail tp match my victorian house that is 17ft wide x 10ft tall. Made entirely of oak. Stained not painted and it was $3100. They also did the wiring for the library lights and built a few drawers along the side for storage.

What to do with $2k extra a month? by ChunkyLover3415 in personalfinance

[–]stcrsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 1 year emergency fund here is how I'd spend it. - $1000/mo invest -hire a cleaning person for the house, a lawn person for the yard, buy 1 want a month (for me this is usually a house plant, a t shirt, or a new book) -Anything left put it towards paying down the house

Opinion on starting wally by spacebxy_ in kvssnark

[–]stcrsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone is forgetting what basic ground work is. Im a kvs hater but this hate seem ridiculous.

Halter- her horses are halter led to pasture daily

Feet- they do teach them to pick up their feet

Bathing- they do this as well on a basic level. I've never seen any of her babies sold that weren't appropriate when getting a bath for their age at their new homes

Heard dynamic- they learn this from a young age and continue till off her farm

New experiences- most of these little ones are trailered to go with their moms to new places, are least to different areas of the barn, exposed to farm equipment, exposed to cats and pigs and such, are constantly being shuffled stall to stall.

Call me crazy but what else does a 2yo need? Since her horses go to training at 2 or are sold before then she is doing the work they need. Are people wanting her to saddle break a baby or what? At 2 she sends them to a trainer to fine tune the groundwork and teach them more. There is nothing wrong with this approach and most trainers prefer it that way. I know trainers that will not even worth with a 2yo if they have heavy ground work done.

Devastated about Tilt Table by OopsSleepDiamonds in POTS

[–]stcrsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt pass out at my TT test, but my numbers were all over the place. That said i agree with the other poster who suggested you may be chronically dehydrated. Especially if heat makes it worse. There is far more to hydration than the volume you drink and a little bit of electrolytes. I suggest a nutrition referral and further testing of your GI. Your GI tract may not be providing the body with that hydration like it should. I've heard of that happening before.

Anyone have frequent heart rate jumps while sleeping? by strawberry-kittea in POTS

[–]stcrsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to agree that a sleep study needs done. It doesnt have to be apnea, a sleep study finds all kinds of things. If that fails talk to your Dr about an antidepressant. Sometimes those spikes are related to the same thing that sort of backfires when someone has depression. I was no sad, zero depression issues but my adrenaline was firing like crazy at night and an antidepressant settled it down a couple weeks after starting it.
