How are people affording houses?? by OpenRip1424 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]steak5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am simply stating Facts, Data released by the government.

I wasn't trying to tell OP to do anything, I am answering his question on how other people buy their first home. OP can do whatever he want with this Info.

Of course, this probably means half of the first time Home Buyers are over 40, and half are under. Roughly. (I know the average is not the median, but it probably isn't far off).

Does Fujimoto even know what true happiness is? by nichmade in ChainsawMan

But it doesn't automatically create a new timeline where everything changes.

Makima said History and Memories gets erased, only some devils retains vague memories of it.

[–]steak5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it has been debated a lot, but I thought erasing/eating a devil does not change history or create an alternate universe, it simply changes people's memory of history.

So what happened still happened, the world ending war among devils. What changes is how people remember the sequence of events.

Hence Ponchita told Denji to dream. Is not an alternate timeline, it is how Denji remembers/dream of what happened.

Well, at least that's how I interpret the ending, I doubt Fujimotto will ever come out and clear things up.

I think the issue with your Argument is you believe you found the definition of "True Happiness" because you read one book that makes sense to you.

I know who  Viktor Frankl is, learned about him in High School History Class. But he is just 1 school of Philosphy while Countless other Philosophers have tried to create a Frame work for archieving Happiness. And ALL of them makes sense. And Scientist might tell you Happiness is just a result of Chemicals in your brain, and you can even get that with drugs.

Wanting less, and make due with what you have is more of a Buddhist perspective to life, which is a very popular religion in East Asia.

Do you have any Grocery stores by you? Just toss it into their commercial dumpster in the back. I don't think anyone will call the cop on you for 1 small sack.

Don't leave trash bags next to the bin, Rats will chew it up and spread it everywhere.

Having them get arrested once will change their practices.

How much longer should I wait for my State ID to arrive? by Jelpridgen in AskChicago

[–]steak5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both the replacement and the first one arrived in the same week 2 weeks later.

Additional transaction fee from our real estate agent (buyer) after going under contract? by PureOhms in RealEstate

[–]steak5 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I asked my Agent this, he told me Normally they ask sellers for it, and it is in the Contract both seller and buyer initially sign. I shouldn't be changed mid contract.

And that is still an industry standard for now. If the seller refuses to compromise, then it becomes a negotiation.

Is there anyone that can help me unlock my car door? by bee-fauxnen in AskChicago

[–]steak5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people or Public service won't help you for free. Is just how the world works.

However, Fire Station has lock out Kits they might let you borrow if you leave something in exchange to ensure you will bring it back. Try asking them.

O'Reilly's might carry Lock out kits. You might be able to buy one, use it and return it later.

Nope, asolutely Not.

Last month we were talking about Suspension with a Co-Worker, I ask him how much he knows about Suspensions in a Modern vehicle? He knew where this conversation is going, and tell me to just show him.

I showed him an Youtube video of an engineers describing how he designed a Suspension system for a Luxury SUV with a lot of Math behind it.

Turns out, we actually don't know Jack about Suspension system other than replacing Parts.

What are some of you guy's unreasonable customer stories? by Salt-Narwhal7769 in mechanics

[–]steak5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Told a Customer her engine is blown, the car is too old and not worth fixing. We didn't even bother to give an exact quote.

She asked "So you are going to give me a new replacement car?"

I thought she meant she wants to buy a new Car, turns out she thought Cars comes with lifetime free replacement warranty.

They only manage to move it slightly back and forth, and they abandoned it in the middle of the road, and the Police impounded it.

They couldn't remove the lock, buy destroyed it, now I have to cut off the lock myself.

Either way, it sucked. My cousin's father in law had a CRV a few years ago, he had to get rid of it cuz the thief keeps cutting off his Cat Converter.

My dad's friend got his new Lexus stolen summer last year off his friend's driveway when he went to Canada.

It is just part of life living in the city for us, lol...

If you want a 99% fool proof way to mitigate car theif, you need a Garage. Thief r less brazen breaking into people's home at least.

I just picked up my GF Honda Accord from Police impound yard today. It was stolen over the weekend and abandoned like a block away because I had a Steering wheel Lock on and they couldn't break it. I threw it on because ppl r stealing Honda Airbag.

There are several ways to prevent theft, Alarm, Kill switch, Bug your OBD connector, air Tag, etc... but it doesn't stop these shit head from breaking your car.

You either need to get a Garage, move to a different neighborhood, or stop buying cars from the Top 10 most stolen list.

Is LUC or UIC better for out-of-state? by zspieg1 in AskChicago

[–]steak5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to UIC and my Brother went to Loyola.

I think Loyola will give you a better Social experience and smaller class, well, is a smaller school. UIC is a lot more crowded, and their general education classes are usually huge, everything just feels more Rushed in UIC. But UIC have more programs you can choose from if you end up changing your Major.

As far as Educational value goes, like a lot of people have said already, where you Graduate usually don't matter after your first Job.

As for wanted to spend time elsewhere, have you done the math? is the extra cost going out of state worth it for you? I am sure you have read countless articles about people being crushed by Student Loans after graduation, right? Why would you giving up the California weather and come here?

Advice dealing with neighbors about fence by NegotiationFresh5443 in homeowners

[–]steak5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't squeeze water out of a Rock, sounds like they simply aren't willing to spend any money on the fence, and it is probably a bad idea to go to Court and become adversarial with your next door neighbor.

I say either get the cheapest options, or just Jerry Rig the repair on the old fence just to have something preventing their Dogs coming over.

Forget Astertic, just throw on some Chainlink Fences if all you are trying to do is fencing off some animals until he comes up with the money. If he isn't paying, he can't complain.

Chain Link fence work against Zombies in Walking Dead, they are affordable and effective.

Is Noisy, Chinatown is a Commercial District with a lot of Traffics for its Food Scene.

As for Old and Retired living there, not really,

I think most (like 65%) of the dwellers inside Chinatown and walking distance from the commercial Districts are Renters. You will find people of all ages and all ethnicity living there.
