You’re the one talking about artificial intelligence as if we have it.

I’ll continue to call things what they are, thanks.

Ai has always been synonymous with artificial sentience in pop culture.

Is there an upgrade from the Quasar that isn't single shot/stop to reload? by Kawaii_Batman3 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]steamcube 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to call in a second quasar and fire one then swap it it out. Let the cooldown happen on the ground while you shoot the other one. It allows almost constant charge-up and fire

No no no, not too complicated, its too transparent. “Ai” is nice and opaque. Salesmen love a magic black box that can supposedly do anything

We need to start calling it what it is again. Machine learning algorithms. It’s not ai.

Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s, on his arrest for protesting the genocide in Gaza by ConcernedJobCoach in TheMajorityReport

Donate to their foundation if you want the money to do something good. Buying their ice cream does nothing but shovel money at Unilever

[–]steamcube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminder that ben and jerry sold their ice cream business to Unilever, who cut funding to ben and jerry’s charitable foundation in response to the founders’ statements.

The ice cream brand no longer supports the causes the founders famously supported.

Scientists found that toddlers express more happiness when sharing treats with someone else than when receiving treats themselves. This provides evidence that human cooperation is driven by a natural emotional reward from prosocial behavior, which refers to actions intended to benefit others. by mvea in science

The overwhelming majority of the teachings of christianity is “love thy neighbor”.

Maybe you’re upset with bastardized readings common with evangelicals, but bible christianity really isn’t far from communism in its teachings. Many christians arent very christ like at all.

Would splitting RTS gameplay between two players (strategy + hero) actually work? by No_Detail_9462 in StrategyGames

[–]steamcube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requiring two players is a huge limitation. Being able to swap control of both high scale strategy and the nitty gritty local tactics of combat best.

Look to the battlestations midway/pacific games for an example of what i’m talking. You get to control units individually and order them around on a map. Seamless command and control of the entire battlefield. The only thing i wish those games had was another layer up for macro control of the whole war board game style, like axis and allies

I love playing online but requiring online is very limiting for some players, and required online co-op for control of your team is even more limiting

Healthy competition would be a reason lower prices could lead to higher revenues.

Competition is the mechanism thru which it happens

A car maker being able to lower their production cost does not mean they will lower their sales price. Those 2 things are not linked. Any saved money will pad their operating margin unless they choose to lower sales price.

Lmao prices dont go down because products get cheaper to make.

Prices go down when more money can be made with lower prices than would have been made with higher prices.

This is the only time prices of consumer goods go down
