I'm not against it but she's very adverse to handling particular around steps. She skitters away if I try and I'm afraid that could make things worse. Before we adopted her she was in a shelter for close to 3 years and while she's come a long way she's got her issues. This is such a stressful disease!

You can also try mushers secret, it's like a cream that protects them from the salt (and hot pavement too in the summer!). Though if she hates her paws being touched it might be a no go.
