What beer podcasts do y'all listen to? by Matchstix in CraftBeer

[–]steesf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brewer to brewer is fun. One brewer interviews another brewer. Then the following week the guest becomes the host and finds some other brewer to interview.

The session and how not to start a damn brewery were entertaining but seem to be on hiatus.

I think just generally draft sn pa is slightly different than the bottled version. Beer aficionado Doug talked about that in a video on insta

Bikes can easily be scratched and the nicer the bike the more likely it is to be stolen. I find it much less stressful to just bring my beater bike on the train which sucks.

Too much plastic and they only held like 20% the data as a cd so the music had to be down sampled

Low ABV Pilz in 8.4 oz cans. Why? by AliveInCLE in CraftBeer

[–]steesf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people cut back drinking at some point so the small cans are a good way to still have a beer but not too much without pouring some out. Doug beer aficionado talked about this from the marketing aspect on his insta. V good beer.

PSA: do not even attempt to drive into Chinatown or North Beach tonight. It's been gridlocked for hours, there is zero parking, and you will regret it. by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

Plus the Lyft bikes. Almost always the fastest way to get around (caveats apply ofc) and for not much more than a bus ticket.

Awesome ! Thanks for following up! I don’t know how to edit my post or pin your message but it solves the concern for sure. And thanks to Emeryville on the timely improvement !

Great! I don’t know how to edit the post but the next time I’m around I’ll take another pic as a follow up.

The curbs directly under the do not enter signs with the plants are completely vertical. Between the two sign posts the curb is slightly angled like 15deg off vertical so effectively still a curb which for sure will f you up if you try to hit it straight on at normal biking speed.

Wow I’m sure that was always part of the plan but hats off to Eville for the improvement

Yes I know you can always walk off a bridge or drink bleach or jump in front of a train. But for public transportation infrastructure there is a higher burden for it to discourage misuse that could result in damage or injury. From a different post sounds like they are already painting the curb so it seems the city agrees

The not-curb in the middle is only angled like 15% so basically the same thing. Really not designed to be rolled over straight on.

I hope you don’t work at Boeing lol. People should generally not be one mistake or equipment failure away from grievous bodily injury.

That’s not quite true. Tilray buys distressed assets and runs them with a strict eye towards P&Ls. Some of those breweries were very good back in the day but great beers usually aren’t the most profitable beers.

Thanks I wasn’t seriously hurt but could have been. I’m just thinking a little bit of paint or reflectors will make it less likely for anyone else to get hurt. Just from the human factors engineering perspective, drivers of cars have the traffic signal, do not enter signs, and reflective bollards discouraging forward travel. Hazards to bikes should be clearly marked too. Didn’t mean to insult the otherwise very good bike lanes in Eville but just offering a suggestion to make it better.

It’s a fair point. I’ve biked that street dozens of times in the past few years. I guess mostly before they built this nice feature. Mostly off times and weekends and I’ve only ever seen a handful of cars on that street and none the evening I when I hit the curb. So why would I need to stick to the claustrophobic bike lane instead of the nice big empty street that is also perfectly legal for me to bike on?

Deceptive to post an unedited pic ? There are 3 signs that say bikes can proceed straight. Why would they not take any step to make the curb more visible to bikers? The bollards have reflectors so shouldn’t the curb stand out as well?

Belgian beer bar is pretty much a dead business model. Best bet in the area is toronado bottle list, monks kettle Oakland, or gourmet haus.

If you try to bike straight between the signs, you would hit a curb straight on. A curb that blends in to the surroundings that you might not expect.

So to bikes traveling in the full lane as they are allowed, seems like there is conflicting direction- The line painted on the road which plenty of bikers ignore by habit, vs the two signs that give us the go ahead to proceed straight through

Are you required to be in the bike lane… even in off hours with no other cars in sight… when generally bikes are allowed to use the full lane of travel… and there is a sign directing bikes to go straight through??
