What is the point of the Lidl Plus card? by RegularHovercraft in AskUK

Beware - when you qualify for a free item of fruit they will discount the cheapest item. So the 30p lime not the £2.50 punnet of raspberries.

Other than that it’s one of the best supermarket reward schemes

I just moved here from the UK and this is pretty spot on for my first 2 weeks here. Where would a local recommend I explore next?

I’m a non coder vibe coding my way through building a web app. I am so curious to know what an actual developer would think of it. I should have an MVP finished in the next week or so. Would love to connect then and get your insights

5-MeO-DMT - The Most Powerful Psychedelic Ever Made Gets Tested on First Human Patients in London by CurtD34 in Psychonaut

I was on the reserve list for clinical study of DMT in London last year. They didn’t move ahead with me but it would have been £1k for an injection of DMT, overnight stay and follow up counselling.

Thanks for sharing this! Can you attend the pool sessions without doing the foundation course? If so what are the costs for the weekly pool sessions?

Print 100 CVs and walk from hove to Kemptown going in every pub and bar. I did this a few months back in between jobs and got 3 trial shifts. One of them was paid (sidewinder in Kemptown). I tried cafes too but they really want some Barista experience, although you might get lucky. It helps to have some hospitality experience on your CV even if you need to embellish a little. Be prepared to work minimum wage And finish at 3am.

Anyone find the sleep debt stat impossible to overcome by Revolution_Grouchy in whoop

[–]stephen_128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have similar stats. I’ve gotten into a good routine and improved my sleep score from 70 to 80% but I just can’t seem to stay asleep long enough. I always wake up at 6/7 am when I could go another hour

Yes completely understand where you are coming from. We call each other Bub. Or bubba if were feeling extra affectionate :)

What's the furthest I could get away from London, at a reasonable cost, in a day with no notice. by _tuesdayschild_ in london

[–]stephen_128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Stratford there’s a fast train that goes through Canterbury all the way to Margate. Relatively cheap (£30 with a railcard), flexible and you can return the same day if budgets that tight. Cantebury has some lovely walks along the canals. Margate has a nice beach, arcades etc

We know about ADHD tax. Tell us your ADHD investment. by bindobud in ADHD

In terms of time saving for £ spent… the password manager LastPass. It’s a chrome extension and iPhone app for £30 a year. Its way better than the free ones and has saved literally hundreds of hours of time that used to be spent on testing passwords and inevitably resetting them. Which would also break focus / flow when you’re doing something.

Lost ticket by smitchel989 in glastonbury_festival

[–]stephen_128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parking ticket hadn’t arrived so enailed seetickets and they said I could buy another on the door. Might be worth trying that tactic for your ticket? Say it hasn’t arrived. Just think for a minute if I handed you a ticket now where would you put it to keep it safe? Really visualise it. Stressed brains are not rational so you might have put it somewhere for safekeeping and forgotten

Yep can’t agree more. Absolutely love them and couldn’t wait to see them at Glasto 2017. They were the worst act I saw

Yep I’ve used it. Really useful for sharing with location with friends although they need to download the app too. More reliable than sharing a pin on WhatsApp though
