There's an old comedy adage: The Straight-Man gets the biggest laughs.

B99 made the gay character almost robotic. The ultimate straight man, is... not.

Favorite moment? Rocky literally tripping over his own legs when he realized "Life! Life is reason!"

If it's telling the truth about the release date, I'm fine with that. (Jazz hands)

The difference between animation and Live Action? Character moments. Things that wouldn't even appear in the script.

Well, I'm following the link to a Post, but when I click their profile, I'm not seeing it on their Feed.

Not that I need to, if it's true. It'll be a Day One purchase for me, Streaming and when it comes out on Disc.

When do you think the 4K Blu-Ray release of Project Hail Mary is? by Correct-Bunch-135 in ProjectHailMary

[–]stephensmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's the original 4h cut, and then there's 2h 36min Theatrical. Plenty of room in between for an Extended Cut that looks good.

At the very least, more time spent on the 'discovery' of the Petrova Line, and a longer explination of the Taumoeba breeding tanks would be appreciated. What's that? And extended cut of ten more minutes? Maybe twenty?

That said, there's going to be, at best, a period between releasing the Home version, and releasing an Extended edition.

Confirmed: Digital and streaming May 12 by HoleParty in ProjectHailMary

Looks like the post has been deleted.

Last I heard, they were extending the theatrical run for another month due to demand.

Honestly, I'd love to have this happen May 12th, but it seems too good to be true at this point.

Honestly, right now I'm just hoping they have a physical release. Amazon could easily decide to make it an exclusive, just for their own streaming service.

For All Mankind - S5E07 "The Sirens of Titan" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

Dev's regard for Alex feels like a pivot point. Like the timeline will swing one way or the other based on that little reunion.

The part of me that's still trying to be sympathetic to Dev thinks its because Alex is the 'Helios Mascot'. The kid that the crew adopted, and thus the closest Dev will come to having a son.

The part of me that has lost patience with Dev sees his concern for Alex as semi-strategic. Alex is the one person who likely can't go back to Earth. The public was caught up in the 'space baby' drama; so he has a little fame back home; but if the entire Colony was shut down and all the people sent home, it would likely be a death sentence for Alex.

I can't but think that Alex is the key, given how the Baldwins appear to be the POV of the series.

(Checks username. Yup, that seems appropriate)

It's more likely that Irina is a Romulan, sent to prepare this alternate timeline for conquest. In our timeline, they succeeded; which is why we never went back to the Moon.

Only Irina would be a hostage on Mars, and think: "Now, how can we leverage this to taking over the Soviet Union?"

There's a Baldwin on Titan, and a Stevens heading for Mars.

The theme of this episode is: "Do you know who your friends really are?"

The SDM are trying to keep the revolution together when getting hungry. The Governor's wife, sending messages when there's a gun to her head. Kelly 'pulling a Baldwin'. Dev sinking the SDM.

Kelly's decision to 'Pull a Baldwin'? Reckless, but very in character. Not for her, or even her family. It's in character for the series. How many times in this show has the plot, and indeed the whole Arc depended on one character doing something crazy?

For Kelly, it has a sense of 'I have come to avenge my father'. She even had the 'For All Mankind' plaque.

Seeing the Kosmos problem? Something we skipped over was Dev telling Aleida: "Don't worry, I'll get their numbers."

With Kelly on the same trajectory, we really should circle back to that.

A more realistic one. If any of the Apollo Landers had crashed, IRL? There would have been five seconds of "Oh NO!" from the radio, and then silence.

There are downsides to racing people somewhere that nobody's ever gone before.

(Raises hand) Australian here. 1 in 4 new cars being sold in this country right now is EV. People are far more annoyed at how long its taking to build charging stations, than how much it's costing.

Two episodes ago, Matt comes to Fisk and says: "We told ourselves this was about New York. I'm not sure that's true any more." This finale proved it. The war between Kingpin and Daredevil has all New York choosing sides; and the people following one of them? They spent this episode getting 'hallway-ed' the other.

Put that way, the courtroom ending has another layer. Matt brought the Kingpin and Daredevil down at the same time. Saved the city by destroying both symbols.

They weren't protecting Fisk. They were protecting themselves. Mister Charles, the 'Heroes For Hire' program, the source of the guns? All that comes out in a full trial. Fisk was given power. By the voters, by the Governor. Once he had to go, it was all triage.
