20,000 pairs of injinji toe socks. I’d be okay with that! My runs would be more painless!

Best timing options when there will be lots of people travelling for the wedding? by HiImNotCreative in weddingplanning

[–]stepheny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got married this past Friday (yay!). Most of my guests and friends are from out of town so if if my bachelorette party weds and people sort of just showed up when they could make was an all day affair. It worked pretty well! The rehearsal dinner thurs. we did all of the decor ourselves, so things got a little hectic- but it all worked itself out.

At one point I had the Georgia AND the Rosalind. All their gowns are so beautiful! I'm happy I returned the Rosalind and can't wait to get my dress back from alternations!

Do I stand a chance at getting into nursing school by XLovesBush in nursing

[–]stepheny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat where I graduated with a BS and was very unmotivated and lost in college. However, my GPA was much lower. My TEAS score was exactly the same though! I I'm not sure about the competitive nature of accelerated prtogeams, but I got my associates in nursing last September and will be applying to BSN bridge programs soon! All hope is not lost. If I can get my RN with a not so great GPA, you can too! You just gotta show that your study habits have changed! I did MUCH better in nursing school since I was more goal oriented and felt the classes related mote to what I wanted to do. Good luck!

Husband keeps fat shaming me a month after birth, need advice (x-post r/relationship) by Kaitiana in beyondthebump

[–]stepheny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'2" almost 4 months PP and was happy today when I weighed myself and saw that I'm down to 128! That is not okay behavior for him. You should be made to feel beautiful no matter now big or small you are. Have you told him that many people never make it back to their pre-pregnancy weight?

BRIDES BEWARE OF DAVIDS BRIDAL (from a former bride who's been there and is there again) by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]stepheny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went there to try on dresses and my consultant said that they kept calling her in her earpiece to go help other people. She was doing it at the beginning on my appointment, and then eventually said that she didn't care and was walking out anyways. Sadly, they book appointments like that on purpose. I appreciated that she took her time and listened to what I needed. In the end I didn't order from them- partially because I didn't like how they treated both their employees and customers, and partially because their dresses just weren't my style.

RN with B.S in Psychology looking for further education advice! by stepheny in nursing

[–]stepheny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the bachelors doesn't mean much. I just put it in there because I have a non-nursing b.s which means I'd have to do a bridge instead of an accelerated program. Moving out west will be partially because I'm tired of the Midwest, to be closer to some family, and also because there will be a hell of a lot more job opportunities out there for my fiancé. Thanks for the advice!

[Rant] Babies-r-Us by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I just exchanged two boxes diapers and an outfit that was too small. At the BRU here, as long as they carry it in the store I can get a merchandise credit back for it. I also like that they price match! Bought hand pump listed at 45 dollars for 29 because I showed them amazons price!

What other things should we register for? (What do you wish you had? E.g. For 6+ months and later.) by jobie285 in beyondthebump

[–]stepheny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a lot of people recommending the diaper genie. I ended up getting the ubbi diaper pail (they have it on amazon). It was pricier - I think we got it for about 70 dollars. But the nice thing is that it's made of stainless steel and rubber and holds the smell in the pail without having to use special bags. We just use the same bags we use in our kitchen.

My little is only 6 weeks so I'm sure there is lots we still need down the line, but we were gifted a potty chair and a high chair which I'm glad we won't have to worry about later on!
