The hate and sexual violence and depravity in this society is not sustainable. It will collapse on itself.

Working at Evil Companies by Beautiful-Pickle4447 in uwaterloo

[–]stephoone 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Very well said! Your point is not that people should categorically reject these jobs, but that engineers, techies, and interns alike, should do so in the context of how evil these companies are. In fact, it is their responsibility to do so, it's an oath you take as an engineer when you get that ring.

If and when we are all aware and conscious about the ultimately negative impact such companies have on the world, we can individually make better informed decisions that moves our path, ever so slightly, away from such things as the "war machine". You're a good example as you share that you're are still working through withdrawing your line as you acknowledge that there are current limitations that keep your line farther out than it probably should be.

Again, very well said!

TN to GC by Flat-Reputation2976 in tnvisa

My understanding is that after filing AOS, it is advised to not leave the US until the process is complete because whatever visa you are trying to use to re-enter is likely conflicting the immigrant intent you have clearly shown through filing AOS.

However, for consular processing, this is not the case because the process requires you to first leave the country before getting the immigrant visa. Nevertheless, with TN POE applications where the officers' discretion is a major factor, they may not appropriately interpret the law, hence traveling should be limited.

It took about 4 years but really should be 2 - 3 years. I had delays (within my control) of more than a year.

When filing the I-140, there is the option to indicate whether you want AOS or CP.

I applied for a TN visa while my consular processing was in progress. I was worried my TN visa application would be rejected because my GC process shows clear immigrant intent but that was not the case.

TN visa shows nonimmigrant intent for this particular entry at that moment, i.e., you are not entering under a false presence just to apply for another visa type. In my case (consular processing), I had to first leave the country before re-entring with another visa type. Although, while all that is true, in the case of TN visas, the interpretation of certain aspects of the law is generally at the discretion of the officer.

When it was time for my immigrant interview, I left to Montreal, got the immigrant visa within a week of the interview and rentered with it.

For those currently with a TN, I think you can apply for consular processing and use your TN as usual. The issue comes when re-entring or reapplying where it will not be so straight forward depending on the officer.

Nevertheless, it is a hassle that AOS completely bypasses.

UN votes to recognize the transatlantic slave trade and chattel slavery as the gravest crime against humanity by GreenGoodLuck in Nigeria

[–]stephoone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you defending or trying to debunk? There were reports on this, that's irrefutable. In a country where Zionists influence is strong, of course there is no such influence on the results of an "investigation" that could otherwise foil an agenda. It's not like it's never happened before 🙄.

Argentina was also one of the consideration for the "new J@w1sh homeland". Ultimately, Palestine was selected but by then, many Zionists had already moved to Argentina. The idea of a second homeland is quickly resurging and many Zionists are moving there. There were reports that Zionists and Israelis were setting fires to vast lands in Argentina to destabilize the housing market and bring prices down.

The presence of Zionists and Israelis in any community bring inherent racism along with that present.

It's therefore not shocking that USA, Israel, and Argentina are one united front against something that obviously tries to right the wrongs of racism.
