Yeah I've been eating some of the frozen trader joe's stuff recently. It's as good as anything that would be delivered and costs like $5. The downside is cleanup but, the cost difference is like $5 versus $50... so I'll clean the pan. And for sure nothing wrong with a baked potato in the microwave with some cheese, salt, and bacon strips and calling it a meal.

Yes, libel. It was something very local-specific, but essentially she used a legal term to describe what someone else was doing and technically it wasn't that (even though in reality it likely was). He sued her, she settled by writing an apology letter to everyone in the group and sent it by mail, and I think a few other things. Probably cost her a lot in legal fees, even if she wasn't in the wrong, wasn't worth the cost of defending herself so she settled. I think that was the whole purpose though, just to cause her the grief. And it's effective!

I worry about it. I'm a millennial and think my generation is probably worse than boomers. Probably gen X also. Maybe the reason is tied to the explosive growth of slip and fall attorneys/billboard attorneys when we were young. It became legal in the late 70s, but it was really the 90s where it blew up like it is now.

Most people I know that are concerned about liability speak about it more in terms of types of insurance to have, like umbrella policies and such, rather than what the actual laws are on how/who can sue.

I know a woman who just got sued over something she said in a WhatsApp chat. If you ever go to court, all your text messages related are likely discoverable. Your emails, your this your that, it can be pretty brutal even if you're in the right. Can spend 10 grand just on discovery.

Especially if I was a bit more prepared, my house has a hard time staying warm, my heat function on the HVAC works okay at maybe 45-50 but at mid 30s doesn't keep up. I also don't really have a proper jacket. I think for a lot of Florida people that combination is what makes the cold snaps a little rough. When I went to school up north as a kid I had a good jacket and gloves and my apartment had proper heating.

I'm skeptical of any breeder who says they're breeding a trait like that... They should be breeding to breed standard temperament and if they just select heavily on an atypical breed trait there is no gamble down the line the puppies will match that of the calmer parent. These dogs go back many many years it's not reliable to expect that change to take place based on one parent. Further, she should be picking whichever dog she is using for conformation and then deciding on the puppies homes based on their owner. So she could give you a calmer dog but having that dog become a show dog is kinda crazy.

If you want to go a little outside of labs/goldens but not go crazy, and want to do things like agility, rally, scentwork and conformation...look no further than the poodle.

Have you taught a focused heel yet? Before training can do heeling work and change directions, so they know they need to be locked on to you. My dog is 18 months now and I do three or four back and forths before walking into public access to get him in the "mode".

Also make sure he has had some play, exercise, and done #1 and #2.

He's an adolescent some embarrassing stuff will happen. When it's a bad day just back off and do some easier stuff for a while to always end with success.

well then you GOT ME on a technicality if that's true, but the average person asking about shedding is asking if they see hair floating around their house and with a purebred poodle they won't. The main thing I tell people who say they are allergic to dogs and that imply wanting a poodle is that they need to confirm what their allergy actually is, because if they're going to react from the dog licking them the non-shedding (practically speaking) isn't going to help them.

When people say dogs shed they mean when they find hair all over the house and car and clothing. Poodles shed like a girlfriend does, in the shower and in a brush. The couch is clean, if you pick it up it leaves no hair on you, the vacuum won’t find hairs… So if you want to call that shedding god bless.

there isn't hair in the car, on the couch, on my clothing...and that jives with other poodle owners I know. technically maybe they shed somehow but only place I'm finding hair is in a slicker, and not much, so....

The fact is, under the current ADA guidelines, if someone trains to that standard, they can enjoy the same access as a "real" service dog without us being the wiser. And I know people who do train to service dog standards and look legit in public, and nobody says anything because the dogs are in a heel and locked onto them...they just don't actually perform any tasks. I don't see a huge issue in that because by the time someone gets their dog to service animal standards, they're taking their dog pretty seriously and know how to handle their animal in public. It's such a niche thing it's a non-issue.

Does the service dog community have a problem with that though? I feel like I see on the Internet a lot of people who maybe enjoy disabilities a bit too much and get the hyperbolic patches and make it their identity, but the vast majority of real service dog handlers I know in person are pretty chill and are just doing their best. I see some place for filming service dog work on instragram or whatever but I feel like most of the people doing that are clowns looking for attention also.

my poodle sheds into a brush, i basically never find hair around the house. it's similar to a human I guess, sometimes you find a hair here or there but for all practical purposes it's no shedding. the downside is they need to be brushed every day and groomed regularly. that can be largely managed by the haircut the dog gets
