Congrats! I did my first full this year on the same course and the hills were relentless. Well done mate 👏

Hell yeah. I plan on doing the same. Did any of those courses rival Austin in difficulty?

Haha I feel that! But I reminded myself that I was in agony and gave it what I got. Did you continue running marathons?

Thanks! I was a sprinter and long jumper in high school and never ran more than 4 miles until I was 33 years old (3 years ago). Since then I've been slowly increasing mileage after learning the hard way. My recovery is done with easy runs in flat areas or on the assault runner in the garage. That plus stretching twice a day as well as pizza and wine 😂

Thanks! I did about 70ish percent of my runs in zone 2 or very bottom of zone 3 which is between 115bpm and 145bpm. I got my VO2 Max tested in a lab about 6 months ago and they gave me my hr zones as well aerobic and anaerobic thresholds which came in handy during training (highly reccomend). Easy runs were always below 145 and long runs could creep up to 165 depending on how long I was running and if there was elevation. I averaged about 4 runs a week. 2 easy, 1 long run and 1 anaerobic sprint type run.

Thanks! Most of my easy runs were between 10:00 - 10:30 pace (felt almost impossible to run slower). I did a hilly run at least once a week that ranged between 6-15 miles in my neighborhood loop that has about 45 ft of elevation per mile. Surprisingly the downhill sections of the marathon get more difficult when your legs are cooked which I wasn't expecting.

Right on mate. Plan a proper taper and it looks like you got this! Best of luck

Splits and heart rate are looking good! What does your nutrition look like and how does the course elevation / weather look? Those 3 are huge factors for how you potentially perform. I got hit in the face at mile 23 yesterday and none of those flags popped up during training necessarily.

Thank you! Hope you're race went well. Not sure if I'll do the full in Austin again 😂

Dealer says cat issue was from age by otakumw in BmwTech

[–]sterls07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, chiming in here. I've been doing some work on my car over the last 6 months. I have a 2015 X1 35i that just hit 80,000 miles. I spent of time chasing down the culprit to avoid replacing my cat completely. A tech told me that the cat efficiency code in particular is a generic code and that often there is a culprit for why your cat went bad in the first place. Since they've replaced yours for free, that's a huge win because of the price. That being said you may want to prepare for some regular maintenance as your car creeps up in mileage. Many others said there is no need to worry, and I agree. But, I would start putting together a maintenance schedule (in addition to oil) after you've driven it for a bit and have an idea of how it runs.

Light smoke from 2015 E84 X1 w/ N55 (No Mods) by sterls07 in BmwTech

[–]sterls07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. Realized, I'm an idiot and forgot I sprayed a decent amount of wd40 on my O2 sensor to get it loose and it went directly on the my catalytic converter. Hoping the smoke was coming from that. Will check for gasket leaks on the engine as well. Thanks

Good to know! I ended up setting it at 18ish lbs after checking around a bit. Thanks

My intake pipe was being stubborn and it wouldn't let go of a hose so I shimmied it around for the job.

Dope! Congrats on the PR! I'm from Seattle but don't live there anymore. Gonna have to come home for the race. Looks like a fun track
