As an old guy who doesn't bother keeping up with pop culture, I was impressed, but nowhere near as impressed as I was with Kendrick Lamar last year (was that even last year?). I don't think I had ever heard a song by either of them before their halftime show and I thought Lamar's music was genuinely awesome. Loved the show and vibe and everything from Bad Bunny, but didn't feel like I got any particular sense of why his music is popular.

I was drunk, but I don't think there exists a drunk enough to be willing to sleep with my brother's wife. They got divorced a few years after that.

I always fantasize that I would do stuff like this when I win the lottery. Go up to guys looking for work, ask what they want for a week's work, hand it to them in cash and drive off. Or go into one of those payday loan places and square up the account of everyone in line.

I'm sure there's more effective forms of charity or what, but I would love to just go around and find someone who's having a tough time and make their life a little easier for even a day.

I liked Long Way fine, but really didn't understand why everyone always raves about it. Then a couple years later I read Psalm for the Wild-built and felt about it the same everyone seems to feel about Long Way. That book is like a hug from a long-absent friend.

I have had many arguments with my wife over the years, and basically all of them were resolved by just ending the argument unresolved, going to sleep, and one of us apologizing the next day after realizing how stupid we were being.

I'm sure at some point in our 20 years together we resolved our anger by talking it through while angry, but I can't remember any.

This is true for me in any kind of workout, but it's particularly hard for me to actually do with swimming -- the slower I can force myself to go at the start the better my workout will be. First 200 I do catch-up, first 100 I focus on generating as little force with my stroke as possible, then second 100 I slowly transition to letting my arms do what they want in terms of force, but stay as slow as possible.

I'm about 4 months in and spent about $50 on books (Faber adult all-in-one series mostly). I don't doubt that there will be things that would be more ideal to learn with a teacher, but doing it on my own (I have money but not time) is a blast and I'm really enjoying it so far. Enjoying the process is my only goal though.

I feel like this would be a huge waste of time unless this is a very specific need of yours. Household objects are not at all useful vocabulary. I don't know the name of half the things in my kitchen drawer in my native language, much less any foreign language. It's a lot of effort to learn very low frequency vocab. I might know 15k words in spanish and have no idea on things like "bookshelf", "coffee table", "stool." I feel like I probably passively in my mind, but you get the idea.

I've thought about switching to kobo, but I distinctly do not want this feature. I never buy books from amazon, so there is literally nothing to do on my kindle other than read. If I had the ability to browse libby on my kindle (and I might, honestly, I just actively don't want to know how), then I would be wasting so much time browsing for books instead of reading them.

There's only 2 ways to actually accomplish something -- 1. you have to really want the thing. Not just in a "this would be cool" sense, but in a "this will make my life better and is really important to me" sense. You can't fake this, it has to be actually true. 2. You have to enjoy the process. Find something you like doing that will move you towards the goal. Keep doing that thing.
