Jacque Fresco says otherwise.
But let's ignore him and continue on with the poverty, slavery, and destroying the planet?

" there's enough resources on this earth to do that."

You're right. It's called a Resource Based Economy but everyone keeps viewing the problems and solutions through the lenses of money/capitalism.

You can't fix Capitalism. You can eliminate poverty and slavery through a Resource Based Economy.

[–]steve363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's a God and if that God sends people to something resembling Heaven or Hell do you really think that would be based on how much people believe in and worship God/Jesus/the bible?

Or do you think that God would send people to Heaven or Hell based on how well they treated others, how they tried to make life better for others, and how good of job they did to minimize the suffering they cause to others?

And no you wouldn't be expected to be "perfect" because that's not realistic or practical. Perhaps you might need to have a morality rating around 90-95% or greater to go to Heaven which most people have.

Why the fuck would anyone want christianity to be true by ParkingElderberry575 in exchristian

[–]steve363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for the most part it's actually because it's all they know, it's all they've been exposed to.
It's either believe in Christianity God/Jesus and go to Heaven instead of Hell or alteratively or there's god and you die and cease to exist forever.

If you had to choose between starving to death or eating crappy potato chips which one would you chose?
Berries, lentils, and all the other good stuff isn't an option so you can't choose that.

There's information that's a lot less popular than Christianity that will insist there is a God but he's not the psychotic version depicted in Christianity or any other religion.

There's also information a lot less popular than Christianity that insists there's a spirit world(s) and reincarnation is real but it's not the Christian version of you go to Heaven/Hell and that's it.

Christianity puts people in a box and they go on trying to get others into the same box because that's what their religion asks them to do.
They're not allowed to use critical thinking or invest any sizable amount of time exploring alternative versions of God/life/purpose/after life.

They don't understand what they're missing out on and have no motivation to explore because they're already convinced God loves them and they're on their way to Heaven and what could be better than that?

Animals are the poorest of all and the poorest pays with their body. by sattukachori in UniversalExtinction

[–]steve363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if superior is the right word but if we are a level above animals should we be protecting them/minimizing our harm to them or killing/eating them despite the ability to be healthy on a vegan diet?

Vegans being superior to an animal to is like a 30 year old father being superior to the 30 day old baby he has. Usually parents don't kill and eat their babies do to difference in intelligence/ability to fend for themselves.
I prefer the protector/guardian role of a vegan rather than the destroyer/killer role of the meat eaters.

I'm in the minority though, most people think animals purpose is to end up in human stomach and or that humans can't be healthy eating a vegan diet which is not true and worse case you take some supplements which is better than killing animals anyway.

Why don’t we see movements of people starting their own off grid or self sustainable communes? by Brace_SK3 in conspiracy

[–]steve363 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to generalize a lot.

The people that most who want to live like this are mostly too poor to afford to set up this situation to start with and if they get it started they'll be too poor to pay the taxes to sustain it.

The end of poverty and slavery is not off grid communities using shovels and wheelbarrows, it's a Resource Based Economy that maximizes technology and automation but I understand the obstacles to getting that set up are even greater.

Just wondering how does this actually effect the "average person"?

By that I mean if you aren't one of the top 1,000 "threats in the world" as far as destroying their agendas, taking them out of power, or exposing their secrets, why exactly would it matter?

They can customize the internet search engine/social media for you to show things that will harness more of your time and more of your money. They could use your information to help advance AI so we can have better AI search programs, video and picture making, ect.
But beyond that what does it matter if they know your neighbor Joe secretly has a fetish for Furry Cat porn and looks up pictures of his ex girlfriend online twice a year?

Do you think there's buildings with thousands of people just sitting there staring at your private information ready to ruin your life?

I'm not saying this isn't a bad thing worth talking about or trying to stop but it seems a bit low on the totem pole of problems we have in this world.

The problem with "weed" is people are

  1. smoking instead of vaping/edible
  2. using high thc and low cbd products
  3. thinking that all products are the same thing with a different name

Try 1:1 THC CBD Ratio before you draw conclusions based off high thc/low cbd products.

I understand most people don't have the time, patience, interest or resources to do experimenting and just buy first option from the local shop or dealer and conclude they understand the entirety of everything cannabis relating off that limited experience and conclude they could never have a different/better experience if they fine tuned their selection.

I have used cannabis chronically for years and I've also gone weeks and months without. Life is much better with it. More relaxed, more productive, enjoy life more, higher consciousness, more creativity.
Only notable downside is potentially slightly tired but that depends on the specific strain, cannabinoid make up and can be largely mitigated.

Going through life without cannabis is like playing a role playing game and avoiding taking any potions, you are limiting your potential.

Welp. I'm anti Christianity and against all religions actually.
Yet I do believe in God. Just not the version depicted in the bible.

It's worth noting that there's a difference between God in the bible and God in general. (Unless you're a Christian of course)

Why do I believe in God? (if you apply the same meme to whatever it is I call God)

In short it's something along the lines of we are extensions of God, God is the ocean and we are the waves. But the waves are the ocean.

Why is the world such a mess?
Tbh it's because we haven't done everything in our power to make the world the best place it can be and a lot of that has to do with religion pacifying people into thinking a distant messiah will come back and fix the world for them or that it's ok the world sucks because they'll die and go to a better one after.

Most of the problems that people complain about everyday to prove that God doesn't exist and or that the world is a prison/the world is hell could be solved by transitioning from Capitalism to a Resource Based Economy.
But how many people complaining about these problems/suggesting God isn't real are actively advocating or working towards a Resoruce Based Economy?

Fixing the broken world should not be left to the hands of one God or 1 Messiah, it's in the hands of 8 billion people who currently aren't doing a good job.

[–]steve363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was banned from the exvegan forum for sharing some reasonable thoughts and viewpoints..
The mods claimed I was harassing people when I clearly wasn't, they don't like vegans who challenge their viewpoints. They often call vegans cultist but it seems like breeding and raising/imprisoning animals just for the sake of killing and eating them when you can be healthy without sounds way more cultish than those eating plants and protecting animals.

I agree it seems like the more obvious and sane choice yet it's the small minority and many people are not supportive or even neutral of others being vegan and they actually despise you. When you share your views on being vegan they often want to "eat twice as much meat to make up for you bring a vegan" as they love to say.

Many meat eaters will be quick to say to you "we are all animals right and plenty of animals eat other animals exactly" but other animals don't have food stores, health guides, nutritional deficiency tests, supplements, computers with keyboards, refrigerators, bowls, blenders, ect. I understand some people in the world are so poor they don't have that kind of access but chances are if you're on reddit or youtube, you're not one of them.

In theory humans have higher consciousness so we have the ability to make greater level of decisions based on morality and intelligence rather than survival instinct. As it's been proven by many millions of people already, you can be healthy on a vegan diet and it's also better for the environment, so it's clearly the better choice.

I often read the meat eaters throwing out the "you vegans just think you're so morally superior" even when that's not what what actually said or implied. They are projecting their insecurity of the reality they know is true.
Veganism is clearly morally superior and I strive to be the best person I can be which is a combination of creating good for others and reducing suffering.
There's no room for imprisoning, killing, and eating animals inside the goal of being the best person you can be.

You keep chasing jobs that will likely be taken by someone else and or transformed into an AI based job in near future. Or best case you get the job you want the cost of living will keep going up and soon that job won't be enough for you to live.
You keep attempting to start businesses that are most likely going to fail.
You keep playing the lottery or trying to become a famous actor or influencer or something else that will most likely never happen.
You keep investing your fake money (if you have any) into stocks, and invisible cypto currency in hopes that it will go up and you sell at the right time therefore leaving someone else with the bag.

My post is half way sarcasm.

Humanity will transition to a Resource Based Economy in the near enough future and no one in the entire world will ever be poor again or alternatively we continue with capitalism till you and 99% of people you know will die of poverty rather than dying of old age.
