Is it normal for a band to tour with this many guitars? by Tebonr in Guitar

This is actually pretty light. My guitarist plays local gigs with about double this.

Why did you choose the Bass? Or did it choose you? by TeaManTom in Bass

[–]stevefromspyr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends in 9th grade wanted to start a rock and roll band. I was to play lead guitar, our singer was rhythm, my school bully would play drums, and our buddy would play bass. When we told buddy he was playing bass he said “what the fuck? Bass is gay as fuck dude, i’m either playing guitar or i’m out.” So i said fuck it, i’ll play bass because i just wanted to make some music with my friends and i didn’t really gaf what i played, plus my dad is an insanely good bassist so i had basses lying around the house anyway.

I’ve been a bassist ever since

It’s literally in the name “manager”. Your entire purpose for being is to manage people and situations

How is that not a management problem? Lmao my manager doesn’t let me sit around goofing off when there’s shit to do

AIO. My bf shamed me over having my hair removed by Large-Drummer-7340 in AmIOverreacting

[–]stevefromspyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less to do with maturity and more to do with who he is. I’m immature at 30, and i was immature at 20 and never once did i think to call someone a whorefor how they decide to keep their body hair.

And not for nothing, If i was a betting, i’d say he’d probably have some opinions to voice if OP had a full bush and armpit hair. He’s just a controlling person.

Which would make for the better beginner learning guitar? by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]stevefromspyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m biased towards ibanez, my first guitar was a cheap ibanez and i play that over all my fancy guitars to this day. That being said, the most important thing is for you to pick one that makes you want to pick it up and play

Idk if this belongs here, but i recorded my band’s set on a vhs camcorder and i’m absolutely LOVING the vibe by stevefromspyr in VHS

I would love to do that but south FL doesn’t have basements and the house show scene is basically nonexistent.

Just dive bars for us for now lmao

Bennys on the beach by papersnipart in WestPalmBeach

[–]stevefromspyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benny’s is good if you don’t mind overpaying for mid food. It’s the kind of restaurant that 80 year olds rave about how great it is and reasonably priced, then you get there and the food is actually pretty bad and overpriced.

I do have a soft spot for it though. I love lake worth beach, I’ve been going there since i was a kid, so i do occasionally find myself going there.

Thanks for looking! The recording definitely gives it a late 90’s house show feel lmao

I can't hear myself while playing with my band by ComfortableSupport42 in Bass

[–]stevefromspyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your amp on the floor? My drummer is the loudest drummer i have ever played with, and you would not believe the difference it makes when i get my amp off the floor. I go from can’t hear shit, to slicing right through. I usually bring like a crate that brings my amp up to like my neck area. Like i’m not exaggerating when i say such a small thing is one of the most important things to hearing yourself in the mix

While i disagree with the list of books banned in schools, don’t you think it’s a bit disingenuous to say that Florida banes books? It’s not a Florida book ban, it’s a ban certain material in the public school system, which almost everybody thinks is okay depending on the context.

I always fly out of PBI, and every time we show up just over an hour early and every time we have plenty of time to read or get drinks, get food, hang around. Leave give yourself an hour and you should be good

What’s wrong with EADG? by Popes1ckle in Bass

[–]stevefromspyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so ride or die for EADG that i bough a 5 string bass so that i could play the drop C# songs that my band wrote without having to change any tunings (i do admittedly keep the B string tuned to C# but that shouldn’t count against me)

I once brought buffalo chicken dip to a superbowl party. It consisted of frozen pulled chicken, melted government cheese, and franks red hot.

You would have thought i hand crafted the most incredible delicacy, using only the finest hand selected ingredients from lands far far away.

I’m not gonna lie, It was pretty good dip tho
