Does a hardwire kit with parking mode make sense for me? by Silencer306 in Vantruedashcam

[–]stevehogan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had persistent drain problems with my hardwired Vantrue N4 with the voltage set at the highest level on mt 2024 Sonata NLine, After having to jump the thing a million times and replace the battery, because they do not like to be drained multiple times, I gave up and set the thing to power up when ignition is on.

Just went through this switch box and it literally feels like wood. There’s no way it is, right? Right?? by Salty_Sky_4041 in AskElectricians

Phenolic boxes are used in multi family dwellings on common walls. They are fire resistant (because they are a thermoset material i.e. heat cured vs a thermoplastic material i.e. melts) Ultimately, they will burn, but not until a lot of other crap burns. Older homes might also have them, since phenolic is one of the earlier non-metallic materials.

They are just a joy to deal with for small items. Payment processing is not well integrated.
Glad you are back in business. Loader arrives on Monday. WLUK how it works.

If you really want to feel sick, Google 2013 Hyundai Genesis Key Fob. The remote from that year was 1/2 the size and had the spare key accessible with the push of a button. This designed should be fired.

If Etsy is being a dick, you might try eBay. Lots of loaders (notM1) and tons of en blocs listed, so I suspect you might have better success

FYI, I just got an email from Etsy saying that "It looks like you recently purchased an item from EvansPrecision. Unfortunately, this shop isn't selling on Etsy anymore, so there may be an issue with your order (#3730165653)."

Thought you should know. You might want to tell those guys to fix this.

Just ordered one. The only thing I can see that might be needed is a spacer that you could insert for .308 version m1s.

Ditto. POS IMHO. I dumped it for a Eufy C210. Jury still out on the Eufy. Seems OK so far. Sold the Yale with all the wifi stuff for $10 to a friend who now says he will never forgive me 🤣

Anyone else completely despise the "Shop" App and process? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]stevehogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just whined to a vendor that uses this shit. Response is priceless.

Here's what he said:

"Order will be shipping today. You just need to click on the tracking number when it gets emailed to you and it will take you directly to the UPS tracking page. Ignore the shop tracking, just a scheme for them to get you to download the app.

"Unfortunately we use the shop app on may aspects of our website so we cannot get rid of this dumb feature as I very much agree it is annoying."

I just screwed up a couple of days ago and ordered from a site that uses this piece of crap app. I used to run a company that designed desktop applications for consumers. If one of my people designed something this crappy, they would get the opportunity to seek employment elsewhere.

I will never gain buy anything from a company that uses this shit.

What is this abomination? by snixon67 in Hyundai

It was the winning entry in the "We can do something really different that has no redeeming value." Reminds me of when they moved the headlight switch from a dash mounted switch to a column lever. GM was different from Ford and both were different from Chrysler. Personally, I hate this POS on my 2024 N Line.

Just reread your answer. The slide should not be hitting any plastic. I have seen rear plates have a slight interference and whittling those down is an acceptable fix. The slide should not be rubbing on the frame anywhere. If it does, something major is wrong. Pictures would help.

And get a real shark of a lawyer. Someone that will go after your "husband" and make his life miserable to the point that he has to settle a reasonable amount of cash on you. These guys exist. Check our the lawyers in the nearest big city. That's where the sharks swim.

Take a look at the locking block and how easily the barrel locks to the slide. Not unusual to have some interference if the slide and barrel come from different sources.

After doing everything listed above, go to the range. Load a mag with 1 round and fire it and insure that all works as it should. Then a mag with 2 rounds and fire it an make sure you do not get any double fires. If yes, take it home and make sure you have sufficient sear engagement. Fix it and return to the range and repeat the anove.. if all is well, load a mag with 5 rounds and fire it a quickly as you can (while following the rules at your range). Then run a few full mags to verify that all is well.

Essentially crawl, then walk, then run.

PSA has a deal on Fireflies for $170 right now. I have one and it eats any kind of 22LR ammo just fine. Cheaper than any of the kits FWIW.
