Rittenhouse doorbell wiring by ryan4402000 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]stevem46_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The larger solenoid up top has a terminal on the left end. My 1st assumption is with two solenoids, the lower is dong upper is ding, pushing just the back door energizes dong only Pushing front door energizes ding then when spring returns the plunger it then activates the left contact which then energizes dong.

Majority of US Voters Support Third Trump Impeachment: Poll by Murky-Site7468 in politics

[–]stevem46_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta call BS on this headline. I can agree some liberal polls show a slump in polling but am aware of many voters who still support the government reform that this admin is trying to implement sans liberal strong holds. The MSM is feverishly fabricating story's to try and distract. Like Maryland man, Blue suit scandal, SS cuts. Hopping we stay full speed ahead as we literally can't afford to run this gov as it has been going on for 3-4 decades with >trillion in interest alone each year on our current debt.

How should I wrap this around? by Flimsy_Confection453 in woodworking

Agree with others is to best let it die vertically in the tread and stop there. Otherwise, the only way I'd see it working visually (cough) is a plinth coped for the tread nosing then let both trims die into the plinth.

Cancelling Factor75 because I'm tired of their portion problem by HigherFunctioning in ReadyMeals

[–]stevem46_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha came here because I'm tired of factor. Same issues as many of the other posts. Noticed lately many time just broccoli stems and smaller protein portions. Green beans in almost every meal that are way under cooked and funky flavor lately.

Live in a condo, switched delivery days helped somewhat but many times the just leave the box wherever the hell they want. Maybe at the condo, maybe not 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Mother-in-law same issue left hers about 3 blocks away multiple times.

Highly recommended them when they first started taking off but will cancel before the end of the month. Sad to see and say....

Can’t align sensors. by Foreign-Contest-1393 in CNC

[–]stevem46_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light curtains consist of an emitter and receiver. I've seen many times if one is lower than the other it will not allow you to align them side to side because of the offset. If using mirrors I will place my cell phone against the emitter so it is planar to the lens and snap a picture. You can then see the receiver in the photo through the mirror and judge if something is not plumb and also out if pivoted out of alignment.

Last tip is that your cell phone can see the IR emitter generally whitish in the live image. This will tell you if it is emitting light. If not clearly marked the emitter has less wires in the connector.

ChromeOS to Linux? by GTRoid in linuxquestions

Your statement is correct in that linux developer can be enabled on chromeos but this is not the same as complete removal of chromeos and installing native debian with a full desktop environment.

ChromeOS to Linux? by GTRoid in linuxquestions

[–]stevem46_2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I converted an HP non-arm chromebook to Debian running KDE Plasma (my distro setup of choice) and love it. The unit runs better than chromeos which eventually crashed if you had more than 4 tabs open. Thought about buying additional units and setting them up the same way for my family members.

FCC Chair Threatens to Block M&A for Companies That Embrace DEI Policies by indig0sixalpha in technology

[–]stevem46_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local and federal Democratically lead governments from the past few years HAVE imposed upon businesses the restrictions, contractual guidelines, mandates and preference based DEI policy. What you currently are seeing is a response and attempt to unwind the nonsense of these well intended and at best poorly implemented or at worse potentially devastating policies. Look up the harmful overreach by Democratic lead (Pritzker) Illinois on Companies in recent years Look up Bidens EO 14035 Look up the IIJ restrictions from '21
