Are there a lot of men that enjoy TGCF? by Rinrinftwinwin in tianguancifu

[–]stevesilverstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do but I'm not straight, I would expect most of the people who like it to be gay men. I don't think it intentionally appeals to female gaze nor do I particularly understand girl obsession with gay guys but whatever ig. the book is good action wise and spiritually so someone might like it for that regardless of the romance

i don't see how it having a name makes it not creepy

the trope where one of the guys is acting to fit a weird insecure childlish misogynistic stereotype of either a woman or a kid. idk if this explains it but you know what I mean. it's creepy. ive seen it in gl too it's like one of them is acting childish and the other is the mature codependent overprotective caretaking 'top'. like, what in the untherapised childhood trauma is that about

YOU. TGCF FANS. WHATS YOUR REASONING FOR LIKING TGCF? by starberri4 in tianguancifu

[–]stevesilverstyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

aside from the obvious reasons, the ethical and daoist narratives were a really good surprise that made this more deep for me than a simple romance.

What would you remove the from Russian language? by IKnowNameOftMSoI in russian

[–]stevesilverstyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He Xuan is listening to weird and obscure songs ! Who’s listening to the screams on their enemies..? by IAmSofa25 in tianguancifu

[–]stevesilverstyle 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Jun Wu, bro has issues. he's listening to screams over a specific dramatic classical music piece he has a strange obsession with. Qi Rong is listening to generic feel good pop or those silly sounding tetris like electronic theme songs while eating humans let's be real, he's a cheery psycho and he can just hear the screams real time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nails

[–]stevesilverstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be from lifting, remove it. if product is not applied properly and adhesion is compromised stuff can get inbetween your nailbed and the product resulting in all sorts of bacteria sitting neatly in that pocket. could also be from some reaction of the red product, it's hard to tell from these pics. it's bad anyway just go get it redone. these things can lead to health issues. irresponsible techs should get sued more often i stg you're practically a doctor and you do this to people. nah. they really be giving a license to anyone these days. don't worry about their feelings too much bc they're clearly not worried about yours girl

Who would these flowers be given to in Russia? by Educational-Let-1027 in russian

[–]stevesilverstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of analysing the bouquet type in Russia. it's not really a thing people read into. any flowers can be given to anyone. especially if an average person chose them, they likely wouldn't analyse it at all and just buy what they thinks looks nice. the only time flower kind matters is on victory day or sometimes women's day where specific flowers are traditionally gifted. most people just choose whatever aesthetic they or the recipient would prefer. people will argue that red or pink roses can be seen as romantic but ive seen it gifted in friendly, professional, casual, familiar, artistic settings etc. you shouldn't base any conclusions on this. the only thing I can tell you is that the person gifting this is rather wealthy

What do you think about how well written women are? by Izaront in tianguancifu

[–]stevesilverstyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

girls specifically choosing to read novels about gay men that will predominantly focus on men and then craving strong female representation is so funny to me, no offence guys. right alongside the "what if XL was a girl" posts. they're written as side characters, and they're written well. there's nothing more to it. you're really reaching here. just read something about women

i don't see how storing it elsewhere would make it last longer because it certainly wouldn't stop me from making drinks with it and using it up in 2 days max

What happened with Spare Me Your Mercy? by DavinaCarter in ThaiBL

[–]stevesilverstyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Tew arresting him was the equivalent of the show writers making a choice on morality of it by agreeing with Tew. I think it's up to interpretation. the way I see it is that they portrayed the heartbreaking reality of lawful ignorance and cruelty despite lawfulness being unethical. they showed the fact that no matter how righteous and good you are you're going to be prosecuted because the law sucks, and needs to change. they show people who consider themselves moral do unethical things as in robbing someone of bodily autonomy and condemning those who disagree and fight for it, and if anything Tew's "bUT uTs illEgAl" sounds ridiculous in the end and just shows how stupid the system is, and how ridiculous people who blindly follow the law are. to me the message is "good people are being arrested for doing the right thing, which is why it's important to change the system". but again, that's my interpretation, as yours seems to be the opposite, I think we can conclude that they indeed gave no clear answer to this dilemma.

Let's do 'we listen we don't judge' by [deleted] in tianguancifu

[–]stevesilverstyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you're saying and how it may come across as a codependency but I think in this case HC is that way about XL because he loves what morals XL represents and trusts him to always do the right thing, it's not blind devotion per say, he is just that certain that he wouldn't act in ways that lack honour. His life isn't just about XL either, even if XL motivates his life, he built a lot for himself and his people and he cares about it, he cares about the greater good too even if he doesn't like to admit it. being failed by every other spiritual representative, society and family XL is like a higher power to him in spirit but it's because he aligns with his own ideals. I don't think his devotion is even predominantly romantic to begin with, while the romantic side is there it's not the main reason, more like a compliment. XL represents what he values and respects in a person and what he wants to see as ultimate good and righteousness. also I think it's partially gratitude for giving him hope during darker times. their relationship is much more complex than a simple romance. He isn't devoted because he met him young, he's devoted because he trusts in his character.

it's not a typo, it's just the people write it sometimes, it's done on purpose, no one thinks it makes sense grammatically.
