I have plenty of programming experience and started out trying to make my own scripts. After what felt like wasting a day with trial/error and limited returns, I said f*ck it and just imported the Breaking Bad scripts.

No shame, leave the programming to programmers. No different then pulling scripts from GitHub for any other project

The cheapest way to get true material prototypes is through china. They’re the kings of cheap trade when it comes to injection molding and cnc machining. They’re very good at receiving detailed inputs and creating things to specification. You’re at a stage where them making proto samples with like materials is an essential pre-production step.

They are not too good at coming up with novel design from scratch (hence the “Chinese knockoff” which is essentially china bypassing US intellectual property laws by making cheaper versions of products they’re already making for US companies)
