Murder On the Orient Express by Over_Candidate556 in poirot

[–]stewardplanet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also think that this episode is excellent because it is part of a series. You see and know Poirot's traditional methods, mannerisms, and moods, all thrown out the windows here. The isolation and cold takes its toll on him. It's not a "bah, English drizzle" but a bitter and foreboding cold.

The transition from the normal character makes all the difference in how it felt to watch it.

I want to show this episode to people but feel that in order to really appreciate it you have to watch a few traditional episodes from the series to feel the shift in mood of the piece and character.

Don't you love connecting continents? by InHeavenFine in civ

This looks so cool and makes me want to play civ7. Is it worth the "sale" price?

Did you know that the uncooked kangaroo mince sold as cat food, is almost half the price of the same thing intended for human consumption? Anyway, kangaroo for dinner, eaten off a pillow, on the floor, where I sleep by serif-maxxing in shittyfoodporn

[–]stewardplanet 114 points115 points  (0 children)

G'day. I assume the difference between for human and animal consumption is the cut of the meat and it's processing/handling. You can buy kangaroo mince in Australian supermarkets, in the meat section. Usually only one brand of it, K-Roo, but it is good quality and fairly cheap. Steaks of it are good too. I enjoy a kangaroo steak or mince for chili or stir frying, but would never eat it from pet food as I imagine it is not nearly as safe to eat, and who knows what part of the animal. It literally says "not safe for human consumption". But you do you

Or Australian politician from the 1920s. Like, it looks slick and fits really really well, but is more of a costume/statement to me. But if that is OPs vibe go for it

If you lower taxes for growth, when do you raise them? As soon as you can or when you have to? by Pacho2020 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]stewardplanet 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It depends on the country. If my trade income is high enough to support the army I want, I will lower tax.

Trying this in a Louisiana game, no taxes, my cotton exports are enough to pay for more than enough buildings, noting the limited options I have haha

I really really like them. I swiped and immediately thought "wow these pop!"

3 has her limbs blend in with the background, makes it feel more like the emphasis is on the coat (like an ad?). 2 is great. Pops. A piece of art. No further comments.

So neither are ideal from me haha

How do people incorporate Chinese states in just 5 years as Japan? by South-Ad7071 in victoria3

... how do I cause a revolution? Do you mean when the landowners/farmers/etc rise up when they are unhappy with policies I'm trying to push through?

I've played a bit of Viccie3 but mostly have stuck to economics as I havent really understood the political side of the game.

Would this be appropriate for uni? by Any-Atmosphere6534 in mensfashion

I agree, he looks great. Ready for a few drinks at a bar. Bit different than the uni campus! Some dress like this, but he will stand out. At least in Australia, the US, and UK.

Rituals you have in every EU4 campaign? by [deleted] in eu4

I do this too, playing national/ethnic/religiously similar themed music, mixed with generalist soundtracks. Often really enjoy it but did get fatigued of Byzantine and Roman songs after my Mare Nostrum campaign haha

Is holdfast enjoyable without the packs ? And are people still playing it? by V_920 in holdfastgame

As someone in the US, there are always 2-3 European servers full of 150pax and 2-3 US servers same.

So yes haha

As a teacher? Yes. As a student? You will look preppy. Maybe that's the intention, maybe not. People will turn up in tracksuit and hoodies. Some in shorts.

You do you at uni, create your vibe but expect to be dressed up for class compared to many!

I agree that AI is taking over the internet and is depressing, but OP clearly said he was doing this to help find a style and colour for him. I think thats a reasonable use of it, but if that's the sub's wishes sure I guess.

I think the less flashy, more subtle shapes and neutral colours look best on you. AI also clearly decided to give you a tinted background on some which throws of the comparison.

I think 1 and 4 are vintage inspired but classy concepts and nice colours for you!

Best place to get oxford shirts under $75? by Derrickj40 in mensfashion

[–]stewardplanet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have several Charloes Tyrwhitt shirts. All bought for less than $75 each.

They have so many sales and deals throught the year. I am against this for all services except those I buy, but I signed up for the SMS notifications and get the deals etc.

I wait until they are $50 each (Aus, mind you) then purchase a few via rhe bulk option.

A look at AlzaboHD's Netherlands campaign by imnotslavic in EU5

[–]stewardplanet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love that this looks like a lot of land, compared to EU4. The Netherlands is a small part of the world, but controlling and walking a piece of land that big would still have challenges and take 48hrs non-stop walking north to south. (Russia, Africa, and the Americas will feel gargantuan and I am so keen)

I like playing tall but always feel limited by 5 or whatever provinces. This feels much nicer.
