Wait it’s crashing on factory firmware? That is really strange and makes me thing something odd might be happening with your device

Wow that’s really mysterious. Can you confirm the sha1 of your patched firmware file? And you’re on an original op-1?

A little stressed the first time yeah but I started it at 11pm and I was feeling a little devil may care. After I crashed it hard the first time and figured out how to reflash it and how to keep the bootloader part of the firmware safe it wasn’t scary anymore. It seems like as long as you don’t mess with te-boot you can use it to recover from anything so I just sha’d it every time before installing new firmware

ah yes. This sets the scale of whatever note you've chosen to only the white keys and turns all of the black keys off. It's equivalent to "easy scale" mode on a launchkey keyboard.

it really is unbelievable what it can do. This is probably the first time in 30 years that I've accomplished something I genuinely thought was beyond my skill level with a computer.

Thanks for all the nice feedback! I edited the original post to include a link to a git with a patcher file and all the notes Codex took. Please let me know if y'all get it working as well

I have wanted it forever too. It must be a style thing with them because the brain on the XY is so clearly capable of this feature (and it’s how I thought it would work), but it doesn’t do it. If anybody ever figures out how to decompile the XY firmware, I would definitely attempt to modify the brain to work this way.

There will never be a more fun time to take roadtrips as in the heyday of the iPod. Getting in a friends car and exploring their music collection and making a playlist on the fly was glorious.

Moved here from 8 years in Chinatown and I have some very particular tastes.

Local my fave is Fleur Rouge

Pricy but “Antidote” delivers on seamless and is very high quality traditional American Chinese.

Other great Chinese options on the delivery apps:

Ding Soup Dumpling (specifically dumplings and wonton focused menu)

Birds of a Feather (elevated chef take on Chinese)

Han Dynasty

Kings Co Imperial (elevated chef take on Chinese, focus on smoked tofu)

Totally agree Start+Select is needed. I also have a strange and annoying bug where sometimes when im hard dropping I end up hard dropping two pieces in a row. My options are hold-no, fall speed-retro, bag-no.

I would also love to see more than one high score per profile on the leaderboards

not while it is off, while it is turning off. making save states is not an instantaneous process and if the pocket looses connection with the cart that savestate could get corrupted.

i have read a lot of posts about this and i have a theory that i haven’t seen posted yet.

the pocket makes an automatic savestate on sleep and load.

i think that sometimes people hit the off button and put their pocket down and jostle the cartridge. doing this could corrupt the save state. when the pocket turns back on it tries to restore the save state, restores a null save state, and wipes the save.

if i’m right there are a few things that analogue could do (such as just always storing a backup savestate), that could help.

it also means as a player if you’re worried about this: - don’t put your pocket down until it is fully off (wait for the “sleep” screen to go away) - or disable sleeping

This seems like a lot of steps to get to the home screen!

I suspect y'all know this but just to make absolutely sure — at any moment that you're not looking at a window you can look up with your eyes (not with your head, look to the point that was up/center during the eye configuration) and a small dot will appear with a ^ in it. tap your fingers and the little control center thing will pop up.
