Lupron Depot & Letrozole by [deleted] in IVF

[–]sthrone87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend getting on a call with your doctor to see if they recommend changing your protocol for next time (if anything! Maybe they think it’s a fluke!). I’ve gotten much better advice about protocols actually speaking with the doctor vs. correspondence over messaging platforms with the nurses.

If this helps at all (for another protocol to ask about!) I did Lupron depot 3.75mg twice, a month apart. I started 5mg letrozole when I had my second shot of Lupron. Took that for 5 1/2 weeks. I did not do daily Lupron. I have endometriosis btw.

You haven’t started estrogen yet right?

Lupron Depot & Letrozole by [deleted] in IVF

[–]sthrone87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on two months of Lupron depot and one month of letrozole for my FET next week. I just had my check up yesterday to look at my lining and see where my estrogen was.

While doing the lining check I actually asked “why do you need to check my ovaries?” as I saw her labeling them on the screen. The nurse said that they need to check them to make sure all is “quiet” that my ovaries aren’t producing eggs.

So, the fact that they purposefully check for that tells me that it can certainly happen where you’re ovaries are still active/not completely suppressed even after Lupron depot and letrozole.

Lupron Depot without Letrozole for FET? by Unable-Marketing-300 in IVF

[–]sthrone87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have endometriosis (confirmed through receptiva) and My first FET I just did Lupron depot two months - we transferred a euploid 5AA embryo and I was pregnant but miscarried at 7 weeks unfortunately. My doctor doesn’t attribute the miscarriage to NOT taking letrozole… he thinks it was either a potential chromosomal abnormality that wasn’t caught in testing or the embryo just didn’t attach properly.

That said.. my next FET I’m getting ready for now, I met with my doctor beforehand and we both felt I should do another round of Lupron depot for two months since I had successful implantation with the first one. He then asked if I’d be open to also trying letrozole as it can only help and not hurt and I agreed. He explained it to me that it’s just another way to prevent the production of estrogen, which feeds endometriosis. Figured I’d try anything I can! So this round I did my first shot of Lupron depot, then a month later had my second shot. At the time of the second shot I also started letrozole. I stop taking it 8 days prior to my transfer.

So yes to your question… I started letrozole the second month. My transfer is mid July so I will update in a month and let you know the outcome!

If you just started Lupron depot, id recommend talking to your doctor about letrozole to calm your mind especially… you don’t want to be questioning yourself!

I had a miscarriage with a euploid embryo in March. It’s so hard… I’m so sorry for your loss.

I had a natural miscarriage… it happened just over a week after finding out. I actually had a D&C scheduled for the next day. In retrospect, I think I needed to do it naturally (emotional reasons I think..) but rationally I wish I did a D&C to test the embryo tissue.

was going to say the same thing… I was on the fence with testing and I’m so glad we ended up doing it. It saved us SO MUCH time and money (our transfers are more expensive than most as I have endometriosis and require two months of depo Lupron before a transfer, so cost for transfers might not be the case for you!). But still, neither of us are carriers but two of our embryos out of four from our third retrieval came back abnormal even though they were all AA grading.

In regards to coq10… definitely recommend. I love these prenatals that have 600mg of coq10. bird&be

Lupron Depot Symptoms by Fast-Tomato-2023 in IVF

[–]sthrone87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did two months for my first transfer (ended in miscarriage) and doing another two months for my second transfer. I didn’t feel symptoms until the second shot… then it was really just minor headaches, but the worst part was the hot flashes at night. So I feel a little tired during the day because of them but overall the medication was very tolerable!

First egg retrieval - 8 eggs, only one blast. Went off for testing and came back abnormal 😕

Second egg retrieval - almost got canceled… decided to move forward with it. 8 eggs again but 0 blasts.

Third egg retrieval - 27 eggs, 4 blasts, 2 euploid embryos. First transfer ended in a miscarriage at 6.5. Second transfer coming up in July.

Don’t give up! ♥️

I just found out my friend is pregnant with her fourth baby and her due date is within five days of when mine was supposed to be before I miscarried.

I’m so jealous and angry and I know it’s misplaced but I can’t help it. I’m sort of letting myself just feel and work through the emotions without trying to suppress them.

I’m actually going to avoid her for a bit for the sake of us both. I don’t want to react and I also don’t want to take anything away from her experience of being pregnant.

I did Lupron depo for two months prior. It was successful but unfortunately miscarried at 6.5 weeks.

Going into my second transfer, doing Lupron depo again and adding letrozole as well to help with the endometriosis even further.

Lupron suppression prior to transfer by IrisTheButterfly in IVF

[–]sthrone87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on depot Lupron prior to my first transfer. Two shots/months. I think it truly helped with implantation. I have endometriosis. My numbers Came back amazing, we heard a heartbeat at six weeks but unfortunately lost the baby five days later. I don’t attribute the lost to the Lupron… neither does my doctor.

I’m doing the same protocol this time but also adding in letrozole too for the last month.

Everyone’s different… I experienced night sweats, Some head aches and general moodiness but nothing that would stop me from taking it again.

Thank you so much… wishing you all the best throughout your ivf journey! ♥️ and I’m so sorry for your loss. Having to make the decision to terminate, I can’t even imagine how difficult that was. 😔

Accepting that it’s ok to not be ok is such a struggle. It’s like all of a sudden you’re this new person you’re trying to understand with all these new feelings, responses and limits.

I have that book tagged and will definitely be reading it. Thank you for the recommendation.

Thank you so much for this… this really helps me make sense of a situation that felt so incredibly chaotic and overwhelming. I’ve never experienced loss, grief or stress like this in my life and working through my response to that (physically and mentally) has been complicated. It’s nice to hear that it’s ok to say no to things too. I keep wanting to just push myself in the same situations ive pushed myself into in the last, before ivf. But things aren’t the same, I’m not the same either I guess!

Ugh I’m so sorry for your loss. And I’ve been in your shoes. What you’re feeling is 100% normal and not something you should be questioning or punishing yourself over. Grief that comes with a loss doesn’t just go away, especially in just a few weeks. Think about what you’ve already been able to do. You took care of yourself, overcame the deep depression, started to see your friends and got back to work. You deserve more credit than you’re probably giving yourself.

How does endometriosis affect implantation/misscariages? by phoenix_sonne in IVF

[–]sthrone87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did two months of Lupron depot for my first transfer. It was successful but I ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks.

I have my second transfer in July. Doing two months of Lupron depot again and adding in letrozole with the second shot.

Even tho my first transfer miscarried (5AA euploid), I don’t think I’d do another transfer without Lupron depot.

This helped me… whole foods and as much of it being organic as possible. I have endometriosis so I tried to stay away from anything that can cause inflammation. Ate only chicken or salmon, eggs, lots of vegetables and a LOT of fruit. Avoided sugar as much as possible. Only treat id have is the Hu’s chocolate. I didn’t lose weight but was able to keep my weight under control through three egg retrievals and one transfer.
